5.10.12 won't connect to cloud.

So, after installing 5.10.12 i can't seem to connect the controller to the cloud.  The install is on a RasPi 3+, and cloud connection worked before the upgrade. Whenever i try and log in i get "There was an error registering credentials. Unable to connect to UniFi cloud. Please check your network connection, and try again."  The pi can ping account.ubnt.com, and after resetting the software i still get the same issue.

Hello @cwarts,

Cloud Access working fine here, could you reconfigure it?

Settings > Cloud Access > Disable and Remove Cloud Access

What are you seeing in the contorller logs?

Re: 5.10.12 won't connect to cloud.

Hello @cwarts,

It can't authenticate to SSO, could you try to ping account.ubnt.com or account.ui.com?

Could you also try updating to 5.10.15 using my Easy Update Script?

Regards,

Glenn R.

Re: 5.10.12 won't connect to cloud.

Was this a change in 5.10.x?  Because it worked in 5.9.x.  No one using a pi as a controller has cloud access using a standard rasbian install?

Re: 5.10.12 won't connect to cloud.

[ Edited ]

i had this issue when i upgraded to 5.10.17 and then downgraded to 5.9.29. I assume everyone is having this issue because you need to upgrade Java to the latest instead of the raspbian default Java 8u65 by installing Java from a different repo. Even after installing the latest Java, it wont work since your OS is dirty with remnants of the prior Java install. I fixed this by running the following in an ssh shell on the pi

sudo apt-get purge openjdk-9-jdk openjdk-8-jdk oracle-java8-jdk java-common

This will remove Java and Unifi and any other dependencies.
Afterwards, install the newer Java with the following

sudo apt-get install dirmngr
echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu trusty main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list
echo "deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu trusty main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys EEA14886
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer oracle-java8-set-default jsvc unifi

It'll install the newest Java 8 as well as other dependencies and Unifi controller. Cloud access should be fully functional after doing this.
