AirOS vs Unifi

As for handling regular clients, Laptops , phones etc.. is there any difference in the firmware ?

Can we expect Unifi to be more compatible with regular clients ?

We have some issues with AirOS on that manner.

Re: AirOS vs Unifi

YES! AirOS, while it works with standard clients is not perfected for that. It is perfected to work with airMax equipment.
UniFi on the other hand is specifically written to talk with 802.11x clients.
We have successfully seen 110 clients on a Unifi AP with 15 meg passing.
With a standard airOS AP in the same setup we got to about 24 and has to start kicking clients.

@mhoppes
thanks for the info. So I am assuming that 802.11 clients can connect easier to Unifi APs compared to AirOS.

Re: AirOS vs Unifi

Other way around. UniFi can connect to more clients than airOS.
