Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

you may need to use your controller log in and username and it is ubnt and the password changed you made when you first configure the cloud key.  i just configured 3 cloud key for 3 sites and it all worked using the username and password i provided when i configured all 3 under the manage selection.  all is working but i need to changer all ip addresses to static so went back to manage the cloud key and all username and password failed.  When i tried all username subsitituting ubnt with the one i provided, then all 3 worked.  I spent an hour chatting with them but they want me to reset all cloud key...not a good idea especially all 3 cloud key has sites imported already.  if you have a couple unifi devices not bad but i have at least 50 and resetting that will bring all wap down until you restore your site to the cloud key and start configuring all wlans under all the configuraton of each wap...i capture the settings with snagit video (it is a habit) so i know i provided a different username other than the default ubnt and still defaulted to it...hope this helps...

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Just setup my controller and ran into the same issue, couldn't log into the manage page. Like the last post before mine suggested, simply using the username "ubnt" and then using the password I set when originally setting up the device through the unifi page was the winning combination!

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

ok, i can't believe this thread and why UBNT doesn' solve this problem.

On every cloud key i have ever installed i have encountered this problem after some weeks or month of installation. Only the ssh-command chmod u+s /usr/bin/sudo  helps, then i can login...

Very strange...

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Just had this after setting up my first cloud key (I can't keep up with all the ubnt releases in the last year!)

I had restored a backup onto the UCK that had been taken from a Mac OS X controller.

Fingers crossed the rest of the journey is smooth.

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

I use a password manager, so I am confident my password is correct, but everything seems to say that I have the password wrong!

I cannot SSH in either.  "Access denied" after giving my password.

This was OK when I set it up initially a few months ago. The APs are working, except one, but I just cannot get into the CK now. Please help.

got it

ssh -l ubnt 192.168.1.30 or whatever you IP is

checked as per post on here with ls -l /usr/bin/sudo then chmod u+s /usr/bin/sudo

Could then login with ubnt/ubnt

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Same issues after updating to 0.7.3.

Finally worked by using root as username and password I had set.

Not going to change anything for fear of not be able to access again.

Hope issue gets fixed with next update.

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

[ Edited ]

Issue is back with the latest firmware update (0.7.3).

Had to ssh in and chmod u+s /usr/bin/sudo to get back into the web UI.

Any idea why the base mode is set at 755 without the sticky bit? Thought by default on install it will be on.

I just had this issue as well. The posted solution worked for me as well.

I too am suspicious of the update I did when I first got the CK.

tryd ubnt, root and UI inlog name. Tryed setup password, and ubnt.

So i can't login in the WebUI and CL. I need to set my ip for the coudkey to a fixed insteat of DHCP.

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Did you try a hard reset? Might be the only way now.

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Hi,

I have been experiencing the same issues after upgrading to the latest firmware but I don't seem to have the same suid issue that you are proposing a solution to.

Running

ls -l /usr/bin/sudo

results in

-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 106820 May 29 07:52 /usr/bin/sudo

which is how it is supposed to be but I can still can not log onto the WebUI.

Any suggestions?

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Hi,

you have to use the other command too. (chmod u+s /usr/bin/sudo)

@UBNT-APieper wrote:

For anyone who's encountering difficulties logging in on WebUI in both cases we have worked with the resolution has been the same. The issue appears to be arising from incorrect SUID account privileges on the UCK system. This can be confirmed by sshing into the CloudKey and running the following command:

ls -l /usr/bin/sudo

This should return output similar or identical to the following if the same root cause:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 106820 Jan 10 2016 /usr/bin/sudo

To resolve this and ensure that any suid issues are not causing the issue, run the following command:

chmod u+s /usr/bin/sudo

Re-test logging in to the WebUI and confirm the issue is resolved.

Re: Cannot log in to Cloud Key WebUI

Sorry for not being clear enough on my original post but I already did run

chmod u+s /usr/bin/sudo

but that still did not solve the WebUI issue for me.

ls -l /usr/bin/sudo

gave the same result before and after it being run or

-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 106820 May 29 07:52 /usr/bin/sudo

which seems to be the correct setting.  I am guessing my problem lies in something else.
