Re: Cloud Key - Unifi Stopped?

Same issue here... Any updates?

1) I have 1 CK at home.

2) Occurred during update to v0.6.9 firmware. Was running 5.4.14 but was updating to 5.4.18

3) Powered through UniFi 16-port PoE switch.

4) No.

@eurochez

Your case comes from a 0 size db file which causes mongod failing to start.

I've restored from your latest autobackup and made your controller running again.

I found some case which our restore process (from webui) can improve.

We will improve that in the future.

Thanks.

@eac

Your case is different.

UniFi controller and cloudkey webui are both running, but the controller running status on cloudkey webui shows stopped. (although it's actually running)

That comes from a bug in our cloudkey webui backend code + the way the page is access (via a hostname which the cloudkey isn't aware of).

I've added a fix in your cloudkey.

It should show the status correctly now. (Please let me know if it doesn't).

I will add the fix in coming relesae.

Thanks.

Re: Cloud Key - Unifi Stopped?

Sorry, am I missing something? Have these people given you permission to access their cloud keys and restore backups?

I am a bit confused from the wording because UBNT-KM has copied and pasted the same sentence a few times with the typo in the posts.

Re: Cloud Key - Unifi Stopped?

@lynas Yes, via TeamViewer UBNT-KM accessed the CloudKey through ssh. Checked everything, seemed to be a corrupt database.

Tried to repair it, didnt work, then he restored the last backup and it worked!!

Again publicly thanks UBNT-KM!!

Re: Cloud Key - Unifi Stopped?

One  CK, haven't had luck since new a month ago.  Tried when new and again last week with backup and fresh. Tried dhcp reservation and static ip; runs for a bit then becomes unreachable (both CK and controller).

Re: Cloud Key - Unifi Stopped?

1. 1 of 1

2. 6.9 and 5.4.18

3. PoE
4. No, it just stopped working.

It was a new device, I installed it and it was working for about a day, then I couldn't connect to the UNIFI controller, (Still can connect to the cloudkey itself via ssh and web, but trying to go to the unifi feature brings up nothing)

I don't have a backup because it was a new install, I didn't have it fully configured at the time it died on me.

I have had this issue since first installing the CK a few months ago.  The problem continues to exist through multiple firmware updates.  Answers to @UBNT-APieper questions.

1. 1 CK installed and managing 3 UAPs

2.  CK version 0.6.9, Controller version 5.4.16-9234

3.  Powered with a 5V/2A USB Power Supply

4.  No power outages - USB Power Supply plugged into a UPS

@UBNT-APieper

> 1. How many of your Cloud Keys are displaying the issue?

1 of 1

> 2. What Cloud Key firmware and what controller version is the issue being seen on?

Cloud Key firmware = v0.6.4

Unifi Controller = 5.4.16-9234

> 3. How are you powering your Cloud Key(s)?

USB power adapter 5.1V 1A

> 4. Was there any interruption of power or power-cycling of the equipment as aligned with the symptoms being displayed?

Most likely due to overnight power outage at home.

@UBNT-KM

Was it that my problem?

I've thought it was just a mater of wrong displayed info (unifi/localhost, remember?)...

Later edit:

I didn't have any automatic backup at that time, anyway.

I've just started last night to do backups.

@lynas

Yes, I asked for remote access via PM and helped on @eac @eurochez @marcdelemarre and @armour783's cases.

@eac Sorry, I think I mixed up yours and @eurochez's case in previous posts. I will fix them.

Your case is a bug on CloudKey webui backend.
If you use a hostname to access Cloudkey webui and that hostname can't be resolved by Cloudkey itself, the UniFi Controller running status is shown as stopped. (even when it's running, which is your case).

This bug is fixed in your CloudKey and will go into the next CloudKey firmware release.

@eurochez and @marcdelemarre have the same issue. A 0 size db file made mongod doesn't start, so controller is down.

Their controller come back after I help to restore controller back to the latest autobackup they have. (That's why I suggest to turn on autobackup).

We will improve the restore from autobackup in the future.

In the meanwhilte, I will try to come out some steps to help retore it manually.

@armour783 has setup which lost cloud access randomly (while he is away from CloudKey). And it comes back after power cycle. It sounds different so far. I will need more information from him (when the case happens next time).

Thanks.

Re: Cloud Key - Unifi Stopped?

@Sango

Sorry about the typo.

I did copy and paste cause two of them have the same issue (and same way to get controller back)

May I know the typo which I can fix?

Thanks.

The word was "restore" but in the post it was typed as "retore".

I've retore from your latest autobackup and made your controller running again.
