Cloud key gen2 or Pro?

Hello there,

We have about 400 Unifi devices that we cutcurren manage. Right now we use Windows running the controller, and it works great! But our customer wants to move to Azure, and they don't want to move that piece if they don't have too. So the question is, can we use a normal cloud key gen2, or do we need Pro?

And, if we need Pro, which is totally fine, can we replace the internal hard drive with an SSD to make the system faster? I'm not sure if config data for Unifi is stored in this disk or not. It may only be video, which we will not use.

Thank for any info you can provide. Man Happy

The Cloud Key Gen2 and Cloud Key Gen2 Plus are both advertised as supporting up to 50 devices so that's well below what you have.

Hello @SportinSS,

You mean the Plus?

The HDD is used for UniFi Protect..

You can't use a UCK G2 ( Plus ) for 400 devices.. ~40/50 devices is the MAX it can handle, you may want to look into the UAS XG.

You can take a look at this article.

Re: Cloud key gen2 or Pro?

Yes Unifi Protect Plus, sorry about the mistake.

Yeah if that's the case we can look at the XG.

Thank you so much.
