Connected to WiFi, but no Internet

Hello,

For some reason I can connect to my Unifi AP AC LR, but internet doesn't work. "Connected, but no internet access." I can confirm that it only happens when I'm connected to that AP since I tried a wired connection and a different router. This error only happened today, and everything was fine from before. It suddenly showed this error.

I tried restarting my modem, restarted/factory reset the AP. All my other devices can connect just fine and work perfectly.

Can you perform:

tracert 1.1.1.1

nslookup www.google.com

ipconfig /all (assuming you are using a Windows machine for testing)

What version controller and firmware version are you using?

Can you share your 'Show System Config' which can be found in the controller on the Settings, Maintenance tab?

Controller (5.10.23): CK 1.0.1
Unifi (4.0.42.10433 ): UAP-AC-IW-Pro, UAP-AC-LR, UAP-AC-M & USW8-60W (4.0.42.10433)

Better WiFi coverage is not achieved by increasing transmission power, but by increasing the number of accesspoints.

Thank you for the reply. I got an error for the first two.

I'm new to this product, and unfortunately, I cannot provide the system config since I had trouble detecting with a controller. I do use the mobile app.

If I do somehow set up the controller, is there something I should look out for?

Re: Connected to WiFi, but no Internet

Hello @needhalp,

Welcome to the community!

Is the UAP set to DHCP?

Do you have any VLANs in your setup?

If so did you tag the VLANs to the switchport?

Do you receive a IP from dhcp when you connect to the same port as the UAP?

Regards,

Glenn R.

Re: Connected to WiFi, but no Internet

Hello. The UAP is set to DHCP and I have no VLANs in my setup.

I do not receive a IP when connected to the UAP.

Re: Connected to WiFi, but no Internet

Hello @needhalp,

Is the UAP pluged in into a switch/router?

Could you take a screenshot from your system config?

Settings > Maintenance > Support Info > Show System Config

Could you also post a screenshot of your wireless network?

Settings > Wireless Networks > Your SSID

Re: Connected to WiFi, but no Internet

Hello @jmgallo,

Welcome to the community!

Do the devices have an DHCP address?

You can disable the Uplink Connectivity Monitor

Settings > Site > Uplink Connectivity Monitor

Make sure Auto-Optimize Network is disabled.

Settings > Site > Auto-Optimize Network

I also recommend the following Radio Settings.

Devices > UAP > Config > Radios

2.4 GHz
Channel width: HT20
Chanel: 1/6/11 | Choose one of these channels, a RF scan will help you choose the most clean one.
Transmit Power: Low ( Medium )

5GHz
Channel width: VHT40 | Optional VHT80/VHT160 might decrease wireless stability
Chanel: 36/44 | Optional (149/157) Choose one of these channels, a RF scan will help you choose the most clean one. Avoid using DFS Channels
Transmit Power: Medium ( High )
