@sahoon

So could you describe your setup?

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@-EG-, new-driver7 may help with what you are describing here.  In my testing, there was an issue that would sometimes present in very short time, and it would cause the AP to be unuseably until it was rebooted or re-provisioned.  If you have multiple SSID's or there is a lot of bcast/mcast traffic, the bug is likely to happen more quickly.

Are you able to ssh into an unusable AP and look at the output of 'dmesg'?

Are you willing to try new-driver7 to see if it helps with your problem?  I know you're probably hesitant becuase of the lack of succes with new-driver6, but testing this stuff out is very valuable for us, especially since we are working toward getting this firmware to be a GA release.

@sahaja-it-team, 3.7.5 experiences some connectivity issues that we are working to resolve with the new-driverX series.  Are you willing to try it and see if it helps with your connectivity issues?

Also, for some insight into this issue and the firmware's that can help with the issue, see this thread:

@Adze1502, your set-up may give us some insight into another bug we are fighting (that we hoped new-driverX would help, but apparently does not).

Can you provide remote access so that we can take a look?  Being able to SSH into the AP's is preferred.

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@UBNT-BenBuckley: The problem is that this happens on APs with many users. If I degrade the performance even more than they will for sure kill me. We have a Wifi only environment and by now I spend probably an hour a day explaining why the "internet is dropping all the time" or why "my wifi network is not there". I could put it up on a less used AP but then these users are not complaining...

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@sahaja-it-team, Understood.  It's still not clear to me what firmware you tried when you said "I tried upgrading to latest firmware."  Can you confirm?

I think the new-driverX series is worth a shot.  If you were reporting constant reboots, I might think you were experienceing a memory leak we are working on.  But since you are describing "no internet access while connected" syndrome, I think this firmware is likely to help.

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@sahoon Not to diminish the problem you are having at all, but I've had terrible WiFi experiences in many places that have had other vendors' premium APs - they're very commonly misconfigured and/or under-populated. Not to say that our APs are perfect, but they've come a long way recently, and there are millions of users who have great success with our UAPs.

So, to reiterate the question that I asked earlier -- Can you be very specific in describing the exact problems that you are having, and which version started having problems? Have you verified that ATF, band-steering, and connectivity monitor are disabled?

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@-EG- Is there any chance you can get logs from the UAP that loses connectivity in 2 minutes? Also, can you look at the controller dashboard to see how much traffic is on the network in general?

driver7 seems to solve the memory problem on a PRO (running one day). Memory use stays stable throughout the day.

@UBNT-jeff @UBNT-BenBuckley, I'll update firmware tomorrow to give you some logs.
Do you want a test with the old firmware (driver6.bin) that fails in few minutes or a test with the new one (driver7.bin)?

I give you some more info: my site is an home network site, with an AP on each floor.
I configured two SSID i.e. first SSID named "home" and the other one named "floor".
On each AP, SSID named "floor" is overridden with a more specific name:"floor down" for the ground floor AP and "floor up" for the first floor AP.
I have used different names but this is an equivalent configuration.
With this configuration I can configure mobile devices to connected on "home" SSID that is available on each floor; fixed device like IPCam are configured to connect to nearest AP with the overriden SSID name (i.e. "floor down").
I configured my site in this manner because in the past, sometimes, IPCam was connecting to the farthest AP and connection was not stable. (min RS configuration wasn't available at that time).

I have quite a lot of traffic on the ground floor AP because I record 24/7 two IPCams video streaming using an Android Tv Box.
All this traffic regard the ground floor AP(UAP-LR) and overridden "floor" SSID named "floor down" because all IPCams and the recording device are on the ground floor.

Same here with driver7, we used to have at least a couple of restarts on a day, but yesterday went without any hickups.

Excellent, thanks for the feedback!  Going to mark your post as a solution to encourage others to try this version.

Brandon, since this thread is so long can you do a summary solution post? Will this firmware be incorporated into a release at some point?

Yes, there's a firmware summary stickied to the top of UniFi wireless with the summary. I'll link it back here. Standby.

No users report back problems since I downgrade Wednesday on UAP-AC v2 , but there is not lot of users so i prefer to wait again. A colleague did the same on his site and i'm waiting for it's feedback. So we are on 3.3.17.3991.

Will the improvements on new driver7 be included in the next firmware for UAP-AC v2 ?

Thank you.

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@MagicLink This is good to know.  So confirm, you have no issues on 3.3.17.3991 and what versions do you have issues on?

Also, could you let it soak on 3.3.17.3991 to make sure it's not just the case of happenstance that no one has complained yet?

Thanks,

Brandon

Re: Connectivity Problems - UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro, UAP-Outdoor5, UAP-Outdoor, UAP-Outdoor+

@UBNT-Brandon I let it soak and report here later if any troubles come back

I think the issue appear with the firmware bundled with 4.8.14 except if the 3.3.17 bundled with 4.8.12 i'm testing 'll tell me that's not the case Man Happy
