Debian/Ubuntu users workaround

I am not sure what to do with  the command for the workaround:

echo "JSVC_EXTRA_OPTS=\"\$JSVC_EXTRA_OPTS -Xss1280k\"" >>/etc/default/unifi

I login my server and copied and pasted the command, however, I received Parimission denied. I also tried with sudo.

could someone provide simple instructions on what to do to make sure the problem does not happen on Ubuntu 16.04? Thanks.

Re: Debian/Ubuntu users workaround

You can try a slightly different variant:

user@host$ echo "JSVC_EXTRA_OPTS=\"\$JSVC_EXTRA_OPTS -Xss1280k\"" | sudo tee -a /etc/default/unifi

Or you can use 'sudo -i' to get a root prompt, then perform the statement noted in the sticky post, then exit back to your standard shell.

Re: Debian/Ubuntu users workaround

Thanks. I think it worked. I got back: JSVC_EXTRA_OPTS="$JSVC_EXTRA_OPTS -Xss1280k"
