Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I think there is a network bug introduced with version 4.0.x, still existent in 4.0.15 regarding AC-Mesh-Pro:

If I install any 4.x version on my 4 UAP-AC-Mesh-Pro's every 8th ping packet takes about 2 seconds:

Downgrading to 3.9.42 or 3.9.54 fixes the problem. I tried 4.0.9, 4.0.10, 4.0.14 and 4.0.15. Reducing the ping intervall to 0.5 sec leads to a problem with every 16th packet. Seems to happen about every 8 secs.

Upgraded 2x UAP-AC-PRO, 1x UAP-AC-LR, 1x USW-8-150, 1x USW-8-60 with no issues. Memory and CPU have seemed to calm down a bit from the previous version and transmit rates are a bit better.

I have observed similar behaviour with ping on my AC-Pros and AC-Mesh-Pros in the 4.0.x firmware. I discovered this when trying to troubleshoot intermittent increased response time, association issues and connectivity issues on connected devices shortly after I began trying to more widely roll out the 4.0.x firmware. The issue has been present on every AP that I have tested it on.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Well, I have to say that small silly bugs are bugging me again.

With the release of 4.0.14 we had the issue with nanoHD ONLY that the firmware was there, then looked like it was pulled back and the solution was to reboot the controller. Guess what!

Same happened again with the release of 4.0.15, I saw it in my controller, I upgraded the switches first and then the upgrade option disappeared ONLY from the nanoHDs! I rebooted the server problem solved... NOT!!! Because now I see the upgrade firmware button on the nanoHDs BUT my US-8-150 shows the downgrade option!

I would like this to be fixed in the coming versions, don't like rebooting a production server that has clients on.

Production networking was not affected by those bugs (or one bug). Controller is 5.9.29 Stable on Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS at DigitalOcean.

Thanks for your time reading this.

Hi All

I've the same issue on my Controller v5.9.29 as reported by some users.
All devices except the UniFi Switch 16 POE-150W show me that are ready to upgrade.
By checking the avaible firmwares, the Controller downloaded it.

I'm curious to understand these issue.

UniFi AP-Outdoor won't accept the upgrade. Currently sat at 4.0.14

My UAP-AC-Pro reboots with kernel panic. Going back to 4.0.14, syslog is attached, look at the bottom.

Unifi AP-LR does not accept the upgrade. It stays with 4.0.14.9736 .... (got 3 of them with same issue)

Same here with UAP - upgrade does not work on GUI incl. manual upgrade.

Update for USW-8-150W and AP-AC-PRO from 4.0.14 to 4.0.15 works great but ..

Update on all my AP-LR 's went to disconnected after the update.

AP-LR on 4.0.10, update to 4.0.14 went to disconnected after update and same with update to 4.0.15.

After switch OFF and ON AP-LR start with firmware 4.0.10.

Hi!

We have same issue. The solution was simple. We don't cache new firmware on controller. If wi-fi have not access to internet, they need fw on controller.

Go on controller to settings -> maintenance -> in firmware push cache in actions. After this update work properly. Of course controller need access to internet.

Hi @kalach_89

I did what you wrote but unfortunately it doesn't worked for me, still disconnected after the upgrade

Controller has access to internet. Only AP-LR has this issue, the other AP-AC-PRO works fine with the update.

We're also seeing the drop pings/connection issue on few hundred UAP-AC-PROs recently upgraded to 4.0.15.9872 from 3.9.x. Downgrading to 3.9.54 fixes the problem.

Upgraded a bunch of devices perfectly fine via controller gui, except for original UAP and UAP-LR. Both still operate after the failed attempt to update fw to 4.0.15

Still working now but back on 4.0.14

Tried to update via ssh into each device, no win.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

We have two older UAPs in our networks that were running 4.0.14.9736. The upgrade to 4.0.15.9872 failed, even when running from a command prompt.

When I did a custom upgrade and changed the URL from HTTPS to HTTP both upgraded successfully.

No issues wit the later devices, mostly AP-AC-LR.

Controller 5.9.32.

Graeme

I didn't read this before I posted to the forum.

See my post below regarding a custom upgrade using HTTP instead of HTTPS.

Good luck.

The controller starts to show me that you need to downgrade to 4.0.14 after upgrading to 4.0.15 for both my 60w USW and nanoHd , is that excepted ?

Restart the controller. I haven't had any recurrence after I did that.
