Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

@audidataThere are 2 solutions that both work to your issue on pages 6 and 7 of this thread.

Option 1

Go to Settings - Maintenance - Cache the update on your controller

Option 2

Force the Update via custom update but use http instead of https

Hope this helps!

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I test mine and all pings were <1ms, However, the upgrade process isn't straight forward. A UniFi AP-AC-Pro upgraded seamlessly, but my UniFi AP-AC-In Wall Pro downloads and installs the upgrade and then won't function. the blue light is on but no-one is home. The UniFi AP-HD also doesn't upgrade and is now down (it's remote from me so I can't easily reboot it) Removing the ethernet cable and rebooting it that way brings it back to life, but it still has the previous version of the software. Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

A very basic question regarding this update: why should one update at all, if the release notes do not really mention any fixes or enhancements?

I'm currently following this thread very closely and see many of us having troubles with ping timeouts or with the upgrade procedure in general. IMO, it's not even worth upgrading at least not for those who don't run any of the devices listed in the release notes, right?

Just my 2ct, of course (and still on hold...)

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

@UB50
Well we have a couple of problems with clients randomly getting no IP from our windows-dhcp-server (so he end up with 169...) , then when you restart the AP or go the another AP, it works without a problem.
So i hope they fixed other small things, not mentioned in the notes.

I just patched 1 AP out of 12, so its not a problem if this one is not working properly.

Glad I'm not the only one...I have the same problem with all of my Apple hardware at home.

My 2017 MacBook Pro and my 2016 iPad Pro both periodically lose their IP address. Sometimes requesting a new lease works, sometimes switching WiFi off and on again works..sometimes I have to reboot.

DHCP is running on my Unify Security Gateway, firmware 4.4.36.5146617. Other involved components are a Unify AP-AC Lite and a Unify Switch 8, both running firmware 4.0.15.9872. Unify all the way down Icon Razz

The controller is runnung on a Raspberry Pi 3 running Raspbian, version 5.9.29.

All my Apple gear is running on the latest operating system revisions.

None of my other machines have the same problem. Among them a Lenovo Thinkpad X200 running Gentoo Linux and a HP Z400 Workstation running Windows 10.

I also have a 2008 Mac Pro, but it's running Ubuntu Linux, not OSX..also no problems here.

Anything I can check? It's very irritating, to say the least.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

[ Edited ]

The issues with the ping and general responsiveness of the UAP-AC-Pros and UAP-AC-Mesh-Pros definitely seems to be connected to a sensitivity on this 4.0.x firmware to broadcast or multicast traffic. If I isolate an AP to a quiet VLAN the AP returns to what seems to be normal behavior. On my general network the highest volume of this type of traffic is general ARP traffic and mDNS traffic related to a few Apple TVs.

I've been trying to find what exactly is causing the issue by exposing the AP to various types of traffic on a more isolated basis but have not had success in identifying a specific type of traffic causing the issue so it seems like it is probably either a certain volume of traffic or some combination of types of traffic that is causing the issue.

We've been having the same latency issues with our AC Pros. Pings will climb all the way up to 300+ ms. We noticed it when we first upgraded from 3.9.42.9152 to 4.0.10.9653. I've tried 4.0.14 and 4.0.15.9872 with the same results, so my AC Pros are currently rolled back to 3.9.42.9152.

Hi

You´re right about the issue in firmware 4.x.x.  Works fine in firmware 3.9.54

Hi @smessinger  Could you please tell me how you isolate an AP to a quiet Vlan?  Because i´m have the same issue as you

Thanks

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

@vperezescorcia All I did was assign the AP to a VLAN I had that wasn't very heavily used by setting the port profile of the Unifi switch it is plugged into and while on that VLAN it performs as expected but that doesn't actually solve the real problem, I was just trying to use that as a way to introduce controlled traffic types to it to try to find what caused the issue.

It could be used as a work around for the time being if you wanted to stay on the current firmware I guess, but for my production APs I've only moved my UAP-AC-HDs to the most recent firmware all of my UAP-AC-Pros are still on 3.9.54.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Just a small public apology.  What I posted here was wrong, the issue(s) I'm encountering aren't due to 4.0.15.

Apologies if anyone read that and it gave them the impression there was something wrong with this FW for the UAP-AC-LR's.  There isn't.  I've updated my post too.

Thanks, sorry, shutting up and going away now.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Exactly what I'm experiencing! Utterly annoying.

Main issues

- DHCP timeouts

- Disconnected devices

- Slower wireless connections

Hardware

- 3x UAP-HD

- US-16-150W

- US-48 (sometimes loses connection during outage)

- Unifi Controller (is completely not reachable during outage, even via a dedicated LAN connection)

- PFSense as Firewall/Router/DHCP/IDS

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

We are seeing issues with DHCP timeouts, unstable connections, and slower performace on the 4.0.15.9872 firmware.  We have mostly UniFi AP-AC-Lites deployed.  I'm not sure if the issue existed in the .14 update as I think we skipped over it.  Multiple types of devices affected including our Macbook Airs and Dell laptops.  Just downgraded to the 3.9 firmware.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.15.9872 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Ever since the upgrad to 4.0.15 from 3.9 I have been experiencing Disconnects and wireless clients unable to get IP from DHCP.

I have 13 AP AC PROS working fine prior to update.

Also consistantly high pings every 20 secs. have to restart ap for dhcp to work then after a day or so same problem.

Many people on the forum experiencing the same things.  Many suggest to revert back to 3.9 firmware.

Im seeing this error on all of my AP's.  Not sure if this error is related to dhcp issue.

also seeing control server busy errors that promt disconnect and reconnect of devices to the network.

UNIFI please look into the firmware something is not right.

Thank you.
