Why representatives of Ubiquiti Networks do not comment on this situation?

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Guys after i rolled back to 4.0.15 to my AP-LR's they are working great BUT a huge BUT.. my 2 remaining AP-AC-Lite and AP-PRO have lost power. I dont know how to express it but imagine a building that has offices and the 2/3ds of it is a factory. In the Factory where are the machines etc i have the 3 AP-LR's and the AC-Lite and AC-Pro are inside the hallways in the offices.

After the 4.0.21 or even the 4.0.15 this 2 AP's dont want to connect clients (they connect very few to be precise)... most of the clients choose not to connect in this AP's that are 5-10 meters from them but instead they connect to the AP-LR's that are 50-70meters from them.. this is crazy.

I tried everything.. by reducing the power of the LR's etc with no luck... i even implemented the 802.11 Rate and Beacon Controls and i also reduced the Minimum RSSI.

Imagine that im the IT of the company and in my office i dont have connection to Wifi with my mobile where before 1 week i had perfect connection to the AC-Pro that is 10meters from me.

In all the updates in the Controller or CloudKey or in anything (i havent figured it out yet) something reduced my wifi coverage.

The strange thing is that i am the only one that reports that the AC-Lite and AC-Pro lost Wifi Coverage with versions 4.0.15 or 4.0.21 and i cannot downgrade them to 4.0.10 to test whatever i tried.

suggest: (a) you restore the previous working backup or (b), you perform a RF-Scan and choose the appropriate channels manually. Then, measure again.

forgot to mention: disable AUTO-OPTIMIZE NETWORK in Settings -> Site. This is for /dev/null

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

thx for the suggestions. Unfortunatelly its a factory in the middle of nowhere so 1,6,11 are completely free. Also i dont trust auto optimize and i had never use it.

the more i think of it maybe the cloud key firmware is the culript. So many updates huppened simultaneously that i lost the ball. I think for the cloud key my best firmware was 12 something... with version 13 the cloud key had strange behavior and 13.4 i think fixed that.

You can do a downgrade via the managementconsole :

Use this link as a custom firmware (voor the UAP/LR UAP)

Firmware Link Removed

Works for me !

Would this be the right firmware for an AP-IW as well?  It's an In-Wall AP, not the new AC version.

I'm sure they are hardly working on this. This problem is affecting a lot of APs/people

Unfortunately, my Gen1 AP's have reverted to their Disconnected/Adopt Failed status when connected to a large number of clients.  This is running the modified 4.0.15 firmware posted previously.

Do we all just have to consider Gen1 end-of-life now?

Custom upgrade by Firmware Link Removed and Firmware Link Removed links - Updating (downloading)/Updating(Error)/Connected - FW still 4.0.21.9965

I tried downgraded fw from 4.0.21 to 4.0.15 via scp and putty too - AP was disconnected and turned on only after restarting power. FW still 4.0.21

I have many disconnectings 2xUAP, UAP-LR, 10HDX connect periodic, memory usage 75-80%, unstable speed and firmware can't downgrated from 4.0.21.9965. Controller version 5.10.17.

A bunch of about 30 AP AC PRO seem to have issues with Multi-SSID (combined with VLAN). Some APs do not do a proper broadcasting of the SSIDs, and connections fail if DHCP ist used.

The SSIDs have matching VLANs with the designated Networks.

Will try a FW downgrade to 4.0.15.XXXX later.

We upgraded about 8x AC-Lite APs to this firmware and started having DHCP timeout issues.  Back to 3.9.54 for us.  Hopefully the next version will fix it.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

We have upgraded from 5.9.29 and upgraded to the latest firmware (this very version). After upgrading we are seeing DNS problems with (Apple) devices who can't connect to our (external) captive portal. Adding the local IP of the DNS server (and gateway) to the pre-authorized list fixes the issue on every AP and every site. The problem is that this allows our guests to attack the gateway on those networks.

Could you PLEASE fix the firmware of the AP-AC products to allow DNS requests to every local IP? This would fix our problem.

The beta firmware links for other devices are in the beta forums here:

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I have been having massive issues with my UAP-AC-LR dropping connections of wireless devices in my house.  Ended up rolling the firmware back on the device from 4.0.21 to 4.0.15 before landing at 4.0.10. All my devices starting work again at that point.

What started the whole drama was that my ring camera which is no more than 20 feet from my AP would come up for 30secs then drop until I unplugged it. Rinse, repeat.  Had a fantastic signal from every other device I owned but utilization and interference, which have never been an issue, were way up.  All those statistics seem like they are back to normal now.  Going to monitor it for a day or two to be sure.
