Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

[ Edited ]

As observed by some others: the memory consumption (AP-AC-Lite) is increasing arround 20%. wheras with 4.0.15 it was super stable. Any ideas? The white line shows the moment of upgrading towards 4.0.21

And group upload limit still not works for wirelessly uplinked AP.

UPDATE: And I see ARP timeout too.

UPDATE 2: I noticed lower signal strength, TX rate and RX rate from some devices. Apple TV signal from 40% to 10%, TX and RX from approx. 350mbps to 150mbps.

I reverted back to 4.0.15. Very bad update from my point of view.

I had the same experience upgrading two AC-LRs from 4.0.15.9872. I ended up downgrading both. Controller Version 5.10.12.0

Upgrade did not go well on a single UAP-M setup.

Controller 5.10.12

Firmware 4.0.21.9965

Out of 10 wireless clients, 7 reported 0% "Wifi Experience". All devices showed as connected to the AP, and had IP address's, but not all were able to access the network. When checking the "Cause" of the Wiif Score, DHCP Timeout was listed as the cause and that I should check the DHCP server. DHCP server reports no errors / retries.

Mac Laptop would only connected 2.4Ghz. Would not connected to 5Ghz.

FireTV could stream from local Plex server, but not from internet (Netflix/Amazon)

Downgraded back to 4.0.15.9872. All devices are back to normal connectivity and network speeds. Mac laptop connects to 5Ghz network again.

No increased CPU or memory usage for this site once upgraded. Here's snapshot for both AP-AC-LR & AP-AC_Pro

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Upgraded a US-8-60W successfully, no issues
Upgraded a UAP-nanoHD, which seemed successful, but an Echo Gen2 became unstable, unable to play music without dropping out several times per minute. Rollback to 4.0.15 resolved the problem

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I had a stable system using mesh and several devices before this build, now, my mesh AP's drop 10-12 times a day, and my 16 port POE unifi switch complains of STP blocking on my AC-PRO AP. I have adjusted the STP membership per other articles with no resolution. Is there a link on how to downgrade everything to the previous version?Unifi error.png

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I was able to downgrade the issue, and while doing so, I noticed that the Mesh Pro AP that was wired in to the 16 port switch was saying it was connected wirelessly to the Barn Mesh Pro, even though it was wired in, The Barn Mesh Pro obviously was connected wirelessly to the Garage Mesh Pro, so something weird was going on. I rebooted the garage Mesh AP, no resolve, Downgraded to 4.0.15 and it so far has been normal operation again. I have not downgraded the 16 port poe switch yet to see if downgrading the AP will take care of the spanning tree blocking issue.

Scratch that, I found that the Echo was still stuttering on 4.0.15, restarted it and upgraded the nanoHD again and all seems fine

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Upgrade to 4.0.21.9965 from 4.0.15.9872 on AC-Pro, AC-SHD, 8P and 24P switches was smooth using UCK on the released stable 5.10.12 controller (I always cache updates before installing).

The SHD APs seem to take longer doing an RF scan than the AC-Pro models but I think that was true on older UAP code too. RF scans seem like something the SHDs should be able to do without going offline.

macbook and various other devices all failed to connect to the 5Ghz network with 4.0.21.9965 downgrading back v4.0.15.9872 now

All I could see was

Seems to be caused by

if this setting is enabled ( I don't remember enabling this either before! )

Looks like the 24p switch must run on 3.9.54.9373 to get the streaming to work.  I have tried 4.010 and 4.015. Both are broken (IPTV)

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Running a NanoHD AP - upgraded to this firmware.

Then I lost connection to a Foscam IP camera and a LiFx bulb - they showed as connected on the controller (browser version 5.10.12).  Both devices are 2G.  Running two dozen WiFi devices - 1/2 2G, 1/2 5G.

Downgraded NanoHD to 4.0.15.9872 - coonections to the two devices were immediate - working as they were before the AP upgrade.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Was able to narrow down the issue, was not a firmware bug per se, as the new firmware exposed the real issue. It was related to the Dish network hopper box and the WiFi router they install for the wireless set top boxes for remote Joey viewing. It was bridging the WiFi to the wired lan in the hopper and creating a network loop.
I noticed the switch in the entertainment center was up linked via the wired port and the nearest ap at the same time. I started unplugging devices and things normalized when I removed the dish network hopper.
I then found out I could use my network, instead of the dish network WiFi box to connect those wireless set top boxes to the hopper and remove the dish wireless ap. Not only did the issues stop but so did some of the slowness on the network and internet browsing.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Upgraded my AP-AC-PRO last night, no issues, going well so far. Was very happy on 3.9 but upgraded for compatibility with the new Network Controller version.

Will update as the week goes on but so far so good, memory usage stable and throughput is good.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Been noticing a client, a Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet that was having a *LOT* of disconnect / reconnects with 4.0.21.9965 against a UAP-AC-PRO, to the point where battery life was taking a major hit. Backed the AP down to 4.0.15 and the disconnects have gone away completely.

Only device i specifically noticed it on, it's possible the wifi on it is slightly odd, but figured it's worth reporting there was a regression with that specific device.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I have post a message with the same problem with Windows DHCP Server timeout on version 4.x

Dear ubiquiti people , can we have a documentation about the good configuration with windows DHCP server or / and a debug for the people using this configuration?

I wait for a solution before upgrading (the 3rd time) on version 4.0.* , at the moment I read too many post about this problem.

And it's not possible to take this risk one more time on my entreprise.

We use 52 AP's, 8 switch's  on 7 different site , I need a stable solution!!!

thx in advance

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Reporting that this FW release breaks broadcasting to AP-AC-EDU.

I'm using controller 5.8.30.

After downgrading switches and AC-EDU back to FW 4.0.15.9872 the broadcast function using the Unifi EDU app has resumed to work.
