Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Worked perfectly for me with Pumpkin to the AP (LR Gen 1) that was in a continuous boot loop and I could use the link to downgrade the other 2 from 4.21.

Many thanks!

[ Edited ]

After upgrading my UAP-AC-LR from 3.9.54 to this version i see most of my clients fall back to 2,4 GHz instead of being stable connected to 5 GHz network. The AP and Chromecast had not been moved but now it falls back to 2,4 even though reconnect makes it connect to 5 GHz for a short time.

PS: I have always had "prefer 5G" enabled (both before and after the update) but it doesn't seem to make a difference...

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

there is a new option in latest controller that i think appear if enable the beta features that forces clients that have 5ghz to connect with that. I will see tomorrow if that works when I will go to work.

Could be because of this:

I tried also to go to 10 unsuccessfully.

The only problem that I have now is the low power of the ac-lite and ac-pro and i don't get it how this is happening really.

In my office i am 20 meters from the ac-pro and with 15 or 21 i cannot connect. I was fine with 10.

thx for info, then the only way to downgrade should be tftp and hard reset for old format/kernel/framework ??

What is the best way to go about downgrading ~65 UAPs from 4.0.21 to 4.0.15 after this screw up by Ubiquiti?

easy to downgrade use winscp and rename the file to fwupdate.bin then copy to /tmp once the file place on it access your ap via ssh with your login credentials + password and excute this command syswrapper.sh upgrade2 & i did my old AP LR and it works.

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

I tried it and doesnt work. I tried in a AP-LR with 4.0.15 to downgrade to 4.0.10 with your exact directions. The device did this

unifiAP1-BZ.v4.0.15# syswrapper.sh upgrade2 &
unifiAP1-BZ.v4.0.15# + exec

And after it stuck at flashing green... after 10 minutes i rebooted it and still is on 4.0.15

One poster raised a valid concern here yesterday and now I seem to can not find the post anymore which concerns me even more.

The link that is posted here (Firmware Link Removed) the domain name ubnt-ut.com is a masked AWS domain which does not provide any indication that it is an official UBNT channel and could potentially host bogus firmware (getting trojans, miners, etc in your network...)

It would be nice to have any sign from UBNT whats up with all of this...

I think ubnt-ut.com is legitimate.

It is correct that a whois check masks information.

But ping ubnt-ut.com = 192.76.255.30

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Thought I'd drop a quick note on my experience to date on the positives I have experienced, as opposed to issues.

Setup:

  • 3x nanoHD (4.0.21.9965)
  • 1x US-16-150W PoE Switch
  • 1x US-8-150W PoE Switch
  • UniFi controller (5.10.17.1) on Ubuntu Linux 18.04

Devices are a mix of wired (Windows, Mac, Raspberry PI, Synology, Tado, Siemens, Denon) and wireless (iPhones, iPads, MacBook Pros, MacBook Air, Samsung Galaxy's, ESP8266, Sonos, Broadlink RMPro, Edimax wifi dongles). I must say that there has been a drastic improvement in my overall reliability. I have not noticed any dropped/lost connections. Roaming between UAPs is seamless and throughput is consistent and performs as expected. My current experience is such that I am reluctant to upgrade/change anything in the setup ('if it ain't broke, don't fix it').

However, I will likely try various beta releases; but at least I know what setup to revert to when it all goes wrong; but all in all, a big thanks to Ubiquiti and these forums for the great work!

Re: [FIRMWARE] 4.0.21.9965 for UAP/USW has been released | Stable

Updated around 50 devices (AP-HDs, AP-AC-Mesh-Pros, UniFi Switch 16XG, UniFi Switch 48's and 24's) successfully.

One thing I noticed: in contrast to previous updates, this time I was getting disconnection warnings from the controller for a couple  devices (but not all of them) while they were upgrading, but they came back online just fine. More of a cosmetic issue.
