How To Recover a Unifi Controller off a dead Mac

Hi there.

I have my controller installed on a Mac that just died (a video issue). I may be able to recover the controller file, but can I get clear instructions, please? I can't back up the controller as the mac will not boot up at all.  I think I can get the hard drive into an enclosure.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you have auto backup enabled? If so you can search for files that are .unf and look for the most current date. Save that file, and when you install the new controller you can restore from backup. The device running the new controller may need to have the same IP address as the dead Mac for the devices to see them. If not able to get the same IP address, you could SSH into each device and set inform url to the new controller's IP.

I'm not sure if it was. That might be above my 'pay grade'.

First step is get that drive into a caddy and see whats on it under the UniFi directory/folder/store or whatever they call it on a  Mac.
