Mesh ap goes into isolated mode when connecting UniFi cam into uplink.

Hi.

I have a usg -> pow switch -> unifi ap pro -----> unifi mesh ap. (wireless between ap pro and mesh ap). When i connect a UniFI camera to the ethernet port of the mesh ap, the mesh ap goes into isolation mode. I can see the camera in the management tool, but it does not get an ip address.

I read that this might be because the mesh ap assumes the connected cable is a new uplink, and hence losing network. Is there a way to prevent it, to tell the AP that the ethernet port is used for a client, not a uplink.

This setup worked flawlessly a year ago. But due to building a new garage is was down for half a year. when reconnecting and updating the firmware of the ap, it stopped working.

Hello @nordbo,

The UAP searched for a wired uplink when you plug a device into the UAP...

yeah, but it does this every X minutes. switches back and forth between isolated and connected. the camera does not get an ip.

in previous fw versions, this worked fine.

Hello @nordbo,

"Previous firmware versions" what versions?

Have you tried downgrading?

Re: Mesh ap goes into isolated mode when connecting UniFi cam into uplink.

I dont know the version numbers, i installed everything in september 2017. I did a few upgrades in the start, but not for long. Would assume the firmware was from late 2017.

I updated the firmware of the cloudkey and all the access points a few months ago (everything is on the latest version). Today i tried to get the camera back online, and ran in to these problems. The mesh ap is also upgraded to the latest version.

Hello @nordbo,

Can you please post exactly firmware versions?

Are you using DFS channels?

[ Edited ]

No dfs channels.

AP firmware: 4.0.21.9965

Cloud key firmware: UCK.mtk7623.v0.13.10.e171d89.190327.1752

Cloyd key controller: 5.10.23-11668-1

Edit: if i connect the camera and ping the mesh ap, it replies to about 15 packets, and then drop around 15. This continues forever it seems.

Is there a way to tell the mesh ap to use the port for clients, not a uplink?
