New install on Ubuntu, a lot of issues

I decided to install Unifi on fresh new Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS, but having two issues continually.

1. JAVA_HOME issue (known, but probably fixed)

unifi was not able to start with Java Home message, and found etc/init.d/unifi has been set "JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-${arch}" while the latest is java-9-openjdk-amd64.

2. Unifi certifcate issue (known, couldn't fix. Also masked IP/hostname with *)

[2018-01-14 07:08:31,793] <UniFi> ERROR system - [exec] error, rc=1

I follwed up all solutions suggested but was not able to fix yet. Any idea? Also why known issues are keep happening?

Re: New install on Ubuntu, a lot of issues

@axion

1) do not use java 9, it’s unsupported. Instead install latest Oracle java 8.

2) without knowing which method you used and steps you followed, it’s quite difficult to help you out

Check out our UniFi API browser tool on GitHub. The PHP API client which it uses, can be found here on GitHub.
Details on our UniFi Device Search tool can be found here.
