SSID VLAN not working as expected

So, I have 3 SSID's setup all with a different VLAN. Mostly, things get the proper address when they join the SSID but sometimes, a client will get a 192.168.1.x address instead of the proper VLAN address. If this were happening to all clients, it woule be an easy fix. This popped up recently and nothing has changed except perhaps the version of the controller cloud software. This is happening on ALL VLAN SSIDs and not just one. One SSID is not VLAN and is on the 192.168.1.0 subnet.

I'm racking my brain trying to see why only certain clients are getting the bast 192.168.1.x address instead of their dedicated VLAN IP address. Any thoughts, tips or advice would be most appreciated.

Re: SSID VLAN not working as expected

Sure - I'm using a Zyxel USG1100 firewall, and multiple Zyxel XGS2210 managed switches. All 8 APs are plugged into ports 1-8 on one of the switches - each of those ports is configured for multiple vlans - so vlan10, vlan 20 and vlan40 are programed and all ports are tagged. All wired vlan connections work perfectly with no weirdness. Like I said in my OP, 98% of the time devices get the proper vlan IP, but sometimes devices will not. I know the switches and firewall are configured properly as I even called Zyxel support to go over my configs and they confirmed they are correct. It must be something in the ubiquiti software that is sometimes just not passing the vlan info to a client? As far as I can tell, the only place to designate the vlan info is in the wireless network config page correct?

Thanks,

Hello @nikhsub1,

Can you share your SSID configurations? ( Hide half of the name if you want )

Re: SSID VLAN not working as expected

So the 3 different SSID's are configured the same way...

Hello @nikhsub1,

MGMT VLAN is untagged and the rest tagged?

Uplink port tagged correctly?

UAP Firmware version?
Any dumb switches in your network?

Im not sure what you mean by MGMT vlan is untagged and the rest tagged?
Uplink port is tagged correctly
I've got 5.10.24 and 1.0.3
No dumb switches - the APs plug directly into the Zyxel switch.

As I said, for the most part everything works correctly except when a wifi device doesn't get the proper vlan IP and gets the main 192.168.1.x

I believe he's asking if your management trafficis untagged.

so - I assume the management traffic to your APs is on your 192.168.1.0 network and that this network is native & has no vlan asoociated to it?

Yes that is correct, the 192.168.1.0 is untagged and has no vlan.
