UAP-AC-M PoE requirements

Hi all,

I have a client who already has a PoE network infrastructure for their VOIP system and I'd like to upgrade their Wi-Fi system to wall mount APs because ceiling mount isn't viable. So, I'm looking at AC Mesh units which I've deployed outdoors for a few clients but never indoors. I've seen the little asterisk on the AC-Mesh about "alternative A" for 802.3af but I've never run into this before as all my clients using Unifi are using Ubiquiti PoE switches or injectors.

Will a standard 802.3af-rated managed PoE switch power these properly? I have an AC-Mesh in stock to try but that really doesn't tell me what kind of experiences others have had, if any with non-UBNT power sources.

Thanks,

Matt

Re: UAP-AC-M PoE requirements

Hi @Matty-CT ,

I have UAP-AC-M and UAP-AC-PRO powered by Cisco POE Switch (SG200 series) at my customers site without any problem. Also, at home, I have UAP-AC-Lite and UAP-AC-IW power by a Luxul POE switch..

Never had any probleme with Unifi Ap and my 3rd party POE switch.
