UniFi Alarm: Rogue AP Detected

I am getting alarms like this regularly; what does it mean?

Message: Rogue Access Point wifi-anders [80:2a:a8:17:56:1f] signal strength 15 at channel 6 was detected by AP[80:2a:a8:16:55:b1]

Is there something I should do to adjust or tune my setup?

Unifi USG 3P (firmware 4.4.29) with 3x AP AC LR (firmware 4.0.21), all controlled with version 5.9.29.

Best regards,

Anders

Hello @andersovreseth,

There is a 3rd party AP broadcasting the same SSID as you.

You can mark is as known in the insights tab if the AP is yours.

Insights > Neighboring Access Points

It means that there is a wireless device creating a wireless SSID with the same name as yours and that device is not part of your Unifi network.

Did you for example configure the same wireless SSID on a router or access point from a different manufacturer?

Hi @AmazedMender16

How do you mark it as known? i did not found any option to do so  in

Insights > Neighboring Access Points

and also all your Neighbor AP are there not only the one who broadcast your SSID

Re: UniFi Alarm: Rogue AP Detected

Hello @Zyppy,

Filter on ROGUE ( arrow down ) it should show all the ROGUE accesspoints.

Also make sure you put the filter on ALL
