UniFi Controller 4.8.26 >5.9.29 upgrade on Windows 10 failure

downloaded and installed the UniFi controller v 5.9.29 as an upgrade from the previous install I had working on my Windows 10 Pro workstation v 4.8.15.
I backed up my controller prior to the upgrade.
After the upgrade, I am not able to login.
I downloaded and ran the mongo db app in order to see if I could repair/update the password - following several articles in the forums.
However the account doesn't seem to be there - there is nothing populated under ace>admin

I sent a support request but I don't know how long it will take to get a response and thought maybe someone here had a solutoin?

Thanks in advacne

T

Re: UniFi Controller 4.8.26 >5.9.29 upgrade on Windows 10 failure

Hello @Tconger,

Welcome to the community!

I don't recommend updating from such a old version straight to the new one.

Could youy reinstall the old version and import the backup?

Than follow this update path:

4.8.x > 5.0.7 > 5.2.9 > 5.3.11 > 5.4.19 > 5.5.20 > 5.6.40 > 5.8.30 > 5.9.29

Regards,

Glenn R.

Re: UniFi Controller 4.8.26 >5.9.29 upgrade on Windows 10 failure

Thanks Glenn.  I received a similar response from Ubiquity .. they suggested a slightly different path, but their path had firmware versions that were not availalbe

So I ued this path - a combination of their response and yours:

4.8.15>>5.6.40>>5.8.3>>5.9.30.

So that worked, only problem is that the firmware update on the AC-Lite AP bricked the AP.

Sigh.

But AUD$116 later with a new AC-LITe AP I'm back in business.

thanks for the help

Kind regards,

Thomas

Hello @Tconger,

Risky path, but glad it worked for you..

Did you try to TFTP recover the UAP?

To what versions did you upgrade the UAP?
