Hello @robertik,

Upgrade your G1 straight to 4.0.10 ( use a HTTP link ).

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.23 Stable has been released

@AmazedMender16 this solution works with no issues, I just don't have access to some of those devices other than drive to customer place. So I was looking for remote resolution. In this case, custom firmware upgrade should do the trick.

Hello @robertik,

Try the upgrade path via the a custom upgrade via the UI.

Devices > UAP > Config > Manage Device > Custom Upgrade

You could use the debug terminal on another device to SSH into the other UAP.

Post content changed. The above steps were corrected.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.23 Stable has been released

@UBNT-MikeD Could You explain what steps are wrong? Upgrading straight to 4.0.10 using http link? Or to 3.9.19 - I've tried that as well.

If there is an option to upgrade firmware, this is great for me and I would love to use it. Even if a controller will be doing incremental upgrades to next firmware in line for a particular device.

The controller doesn't allow me to upgrade to 3.7.58.6385

At the time I made the post there were several steps, but most importantly it was to go from 3.9.54 direct to 4.0.30. That is the bad step. The other interim updates weren't necessary. You can upgrade direct to 4.0.10 from 3.7.5 using an HTTP link. It's possible that models using BZ2 firmware (as shared in your logs) may hit a race condition and won't upgrade successfully. The workaround is to disable the WLAN group, wait for it to provision then you should be able to perform an upgrade (or group upgrade).

I'm going to update the wording in my above post as the suggested steps were corrected. I would still suggest upgrading those APs to 4.0.30, but first they need to be upgraded to 4.0.10. So 3.7.5>4.0.10>4.0.30.

Cheers,

Mike

Regarding "Java 8 must be installed":

Which of the Windows Openjdk solutions work with 5.10.23?

It looks like the shortlist includes: AdoptOpen, Corretto & Zulu

I tried Openjdk with .21, the installer reported "Java not found"

Thanks, but I am still getting "This application requires Java. Click OK to download from java.com"

I restarted my computer after installing Corretto. Any idea what I missed?

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.23 Stable has been released

Upgraded CK g1 and controller but since this version experience a lot of issues with my chromecasts in my network. Not detected by clients. Not stable when watching a stream.

Does this change how the USG reacts to this to the APs?

Any tips?

Hello @schmerold,

I can try to replicate it on a VM tomorrow if you want.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.23 Stable has been released

Is there anyway to stop the uptime reseting on a failed firmware check (error 130) as it makes it very difficult to see intermittent problems with access points reseting their uptime every day. Considering that we can not downgrade firmware to a version that does not give this error on gen V1 devices it is proving to be quite trouble some for me. If this is not possible, maybe something for the next update...

Updated from 5.10.21 to 5.10.23 two days ago.

My USG-3 had been reconnected this night 2 times.

Release Notes are missing in GUI 5.10.23.

Still no information about IPv6 addresses for devices available - very bad.

I had updated last week to 5.10.23 already but interesting enough, my USG-XG has also connected twice tonight (but I don’t see any disconnects in the events, just two „connected“). It has never done that before. USG in on 4.4.39, switches & APs on 4.0.35

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.23 Stable has been released

I rolled back to 5.10.21, because I found out that my IMac ind my iPad loses their IPAddress 15 seconds after WiFi connect. After the rollback it works again.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.23 Stable has been released

both 5.10.21 and now .23 have had a problem where only the last hour of stats on the AP Retry Rate chart show up, everything else is blank on dashboard. This isn't beta right?

Hello @black6spdz,

Could you post a screenshot?

Could you share your data retention settings?

Could you PM me the controller logs? ( upload them to a cloud drive and PM me the URL )

That is a bit strange, isn't it?  The controller is not involved in that...
