not sure about laptops, but into close proximity like 1 meter the phone stays connected 4 meters away they connect but disconnect, firetv can't connect either. That's about 6meters away.

btw I'm using all AC Pro

Downgraded back to 4.0.21.9965 and now everything works fine.

I'm not sure however I beleve the AP are able to run without the unifi manager, .. don't you think these are all firmware issues unless, your manager is doing dhcp.

@ofloo  you maybe correct on that these might be firmware isues since i upgarded both the controller and firmware basically at the same time as i have always done to keep in paar fimware and controller.

edit:

No there is a netgate pfsense XG7100 tha does DHCP on one site edgerouters X on smaller sites and a netgate XG 1541 on site with fiber connection it happens on all of them.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

Yeah I've got pfsense as router and dhcp too, .. now you can do custom upgrade, just go to the devices, select the ones you want to downgrade, and provide custom link to downgrade.

Seeing the same "retry rate" bug that others have seen. As far as I can tell things are still working fine, so hopefully just another one of those "purely a visual-glitch" type of bugs that we've seen in other places from time to time. I'm about to start a rolling-update of the APs, and it looks to me as if that solves the issue for some other users. I'll try to remember to pop back and report if it fixes things here.

[ Edited ]

A couple of hours ago, updated!

Tomorrow I'll sign off how things are.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

5.10.24 failed to start on the Mac. It took a long time, then a error message "Controller took to long to start" or something simular.

I re-installed 5.10.23 worked like a charm. The timeout might be set to low on the Mac version. I don't know. The hardware running is a Mac Mini i7, with 16Gb RAM and 256Gb SSD. So it should be able to cope with the Controller software.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

My update on the controller took a few minutes considering the update of both the firmware and the controller itself. Although it was written that the update can be up to 15 minutes or more!

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

I've been seeing almost the same behavior with both 5.10.23 and .24. In my case, the software runs fine for a day or so before failing with a "can't start" message or something similar. This is on an i7 Mac Mini with 32GB of RAM running 10.14.5.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

Updated 2 sites.

My Home & Business.

The Rety Graph for me was old Data not displaying right. New Data as it comes in looks good.

No VPNs Here, Mix of Android, iPhone, Windows Laptops, MacBook Pro at Both. Fire Sticks, Echos, XBox & PS3 & PS4 at Home.

Not sure about my Upgrade Order but this is what I did.

Both Sites working Good.

Home

5 - UAP-AC-Pro (1 Wirelessly Connected) (4.0.42.10433, Upgraded these 1st)

1 - US-8-150W (Upgraded this 2nd)

1- USG (Upgraded this 3rd)

Controller to 5.10.24 on 1st Gen Cloud Key

1 - Cloud Key 1st Gen (Upgraded this Firmware after 5.10.24 Controller Update)

Business

6 - UAP-AC-Pro (4.0.42.10433, Upgraded these 1st)

1 - US-8-150W (Upgraded this 2nd)

1- No USG, Have a SonicWall

Controller to 5.10.24 on 1st Gen Cloud Key

1 - Cloud Key 1st Gen (Upgraded this Firmware after 5.10.24 Controller Update)

My Business was getting DHCP Timeouts after upgrading to 4.0.21

DHCP has been Fixed after I upgraded Manually to 4.0.30, but I also turned off "Wireless Uplink & Connectivity Monitor)

I had 1 AP that was occasionally showing up as "Connected Wirelessly" There, then I noticed some Messages about Ports Blocking a Loop, I have since Isolated after some reading and Turning off the Wireless Uplink Part.

I learned that these could be Wirelessly UpLinked thanks to an iffy Cable on that Same AP. Which proved helpful at Home because I needed an AP where I could not get a Wired BackBone.

All in All, these Updates have been really good for my sites.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

After a day, the graph shows the true data!
At some points, the frequency of retries is too high.
I know about it and it's true.
With the connection of problems, I also do not observe.
I'm testing further!

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

Has the unix zip been updated?

The above link seems to download v5.10.23 ..either that or my update is failing for some reason

I'm on CentOS, using the steps outlined here (done it this way plenty of times in the past and never had an issue).

Thanks!

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

I got an issue with e-mail notifications since I updated from 5.10.21 to 5.10.24.

Notifications are not sent and when I test the smtp server the following message appears:

There was an error sending the test email to address@example.com. Failed to send email to SMTP server. Please check your settings and try again.

Any idea what I can do?

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.24 Stable has been released

Team,

I've found more tha 29K alerts in the log. All the line like:

[2019-06-11T17:37:26,493] <inform-243> INFO event - [event] AP[44:d9:e7:02:17:f2] /usr/sbin/dnsmasq exited with code 512 and restarted by inittab

but it makes no sense as

/usr/sbin/dnsmasq

DOES NOT exists.

And also my dnsmasq process is very well alive and has been for the last days

why this?

what it could be?

Is controller .24 on QNAP linux (32bit)

Hello @shane_ingram,

Seeing what?

You can only rollback if you have a backup of your previous controller version.
