Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

[ Edited ]

This morning I updated it via apt on Ubuntu 14.04 (Upgrade package unifi 5.6.39-10349 to 5.6.40-10370-1) and now it's broke. Cannot reach the controller anymore via web or (Android) app. Any idea for a solution?

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

Same - Debian 8, Java 1.7. All I'm getting in the logs is:

<UniFi> ERROR system - [exec] error, rc=1

EDIT

Upgraded to Java 1.8 and error appears to be fixed. Followed the instructions at https://serverfault.com/questions/830636/cannot-install-openjdk-8-jre-headless-on-debian-jessie

UBQT - Can you not make the update package check for Java version before you go and break everything?

This release seems doesn't work with Java 1.7

I fixed similar issue by installing Java 1.8 as described here: https://www.vultr.com/docs/install-java-8-on-ubuntu-14-04

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

Page not found ;-)

However, I installed the newer Java, but still no luck. I did this after the update. After installing Java, I got the message 'Cannot find Java path'. Since I did not have to much time at hand, I didn't bother and put back my backup.

Is it worth to trying again, first installing the newer Java and after that installing the new Unifi Controller? And what if Unifi says again: cannot find the (new) Java path?

Anyway, would have been nice to include the new Java as a dependency...

Please remove %C2%A0 from the end of the URL. I don't know why them was appended

Did you tried to check Java version before starting?

Type

java -version

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

Try upgrading Ubuntu (14 to 16). Using: do-release-upgrade

Worked for me!

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

The solution from did work for me.

I had to put back a snapshot so I started with the config before initial upgrading to Unifi Controller 5.6. Then installed the new Java-version. Then upgraded with apt-get to Unifi 5.6.

Thank you for the info Pratsenka! Heart

UBNT: please inform users next time that there are dependencies for a new version. Or better, include them!

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

I have a suggestion: In what should be a minor patch release version change (5.6.39 -> 5.6.40) don't require an entirely new version of java.  It's stuff like this that makes Unifi much harder to run and support than is necessary.

Link from pratsenka works.

Disappointed with the unifi package team for ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.6.40 LTS Stable has been released

After upgrading to 5.6.40 LTS, my CPU on my server is maxing out again.

This problem was fixed awhile ago when I edited the system properties tab and added the unifi.xms=2048 and unifi.xmx=2048 .

However, since the upgrade, this no longer seems to be working, and my processor keeps maxing out at 100% . Any ideas ?

@AmazedMender16  Yes, im certain its unifi. Even after I turn off the unifi service, my CPU usage returns to normal of 15% or less.
