Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

Morning,

Rollout out controller update to my site today. 144 AP's and so far 800+ users and no issues.

Thanks for a stable update.

[ Edited ]

Over 100GB free.

Under insights/controller logs, it says no new log messages yet. And in windows explorer, the last dated logs are from July 25th this year.

How much free space is there on the disk?

controller shows a new version available, but in repository no new version. maybe better firstly push to repo, before spam message at controller?

Yes, I only do manual backups. Sorry, I didn't think to add this to the original post.

But now it's fixed itself. When I woke my PC this morning (my PC runs 24/7 and my controller runs on it), I noticed I had to log back in as if it rebooted after a forced update (but my open programs were running and my open browser windows opened normally instead of minimized), I had to start the unifi app, open a browser window, and then I tried the manual backup again and it worked this time.

What I had done prior to this was simply closing the controller, started a new browser window, and the backup would fail. But it appears that restarting the unifi app fixed the issue.

I'll restart the computer anyway as the wake from start this morning was a bit odd with that forced login.

Edit: all appears to be working normallly after the upgrade to 5.8.28.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

I know that this has been asked about before but since I didn't read anything in the release notes I ask again.

Is there still an issure with the site-to-site VPN on the dashboard or does it only show the status on tunnels if they are from one site to another in the controller and not a manual ipsec site2site?

This is what I get on the dashboard:

Skärmavbild 2018-08-09 kl. 18.41.09.png

But this is what I get via SSH to the USG:

The tunnel works but the dashboard widgets status does not show the actual status of the tunnel in the USG.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Since upgrading to 5.8.28 yesterday and then rolling out the new firmware this morning suddenly we are getting guest portal errors. We have open Wi-Fi for guests but we do use a customised portal once they are connected. When customers try to logon to the WiFi by accepting the T's and C's on the portal page they get a "Connection error occurred" message. Added to that if I go to try and change some of the parameters in the portal customisation form I am unable to save - "There was an error saving the guest control change". Loking at this page I wonder if the Expiration field is a part of the issue as this is unselected and cannot be changed.

A quick update to the above - rolling back to 5.8.24 has fixed the problem.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

This pops up on every page update, and it is infuriating:

Screen Shot 2018-08-10 at 1.34.15 PM.png

I update using the repos, and a download button that downloads a .deb onto my Windows or Mac client is less than useless.

How do I permanently disable this popup?

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

Yes the pop up is driving everyone crazy, it comes up every time you open a Site, blocking access to menus under it. Its not even pushed to repos yet, would be nice if you guys can not do that next time.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

Speaking of other issues, I haven't actually tested 5.8.28 yet, but this issue has plagued me through many controller versions and I doubt is fixed.

On the /manage/overview/sites (Sites Overview) page, when clicking on a site, I get an orange exclamation mark icon next to every AP, even though I can't find any errors elsewhere, and all of the "Actions" buttons are missing.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

Hello @adamjb,

Have you tried restarting the controller?

Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

The Triangle indicated a STUN error, see this thread on how to troubleshoot.

@rdahlin was it working under 5.8.24? One of our sites has a manual IPSEC and it shows up green when active for the past few versions, just like the auto site-to-sites. I haven't tried 5.8.28 yet though.

Re: UniFi SDN Controller 5.8.28 Stable has been released

I just upgraded from 5.8.24, and two of my devices are stuck in an "Adopting" loop. In events, I see them being automatically adopted every minute. Two other switches and another AP are fine, not in this state. Wonder what that's all about?
