Unifi AC HD Coverage

[ Edited ]

I installed a Unifi AC HD in my Studio Apartment (550 sq ft) and there is a Elevator and a Concreate Shelf and the AP has really hard time penetrating the walls.Home_Signal_Strength.png

Re: Unifi AC HD Coverage

Hello @goharaziz338,

You will need to move the UAP to different locations or get more UAPs if you want more coverage.

Re: Unifi AC HD Coverage

These are the only possible options i have because of the RJ45 connection. Still I am surprised its not passing concreate cabnet. Even If i Put next to it.

Hello @goharaziz338,

The 3rd one looks the best, tho if you want coverage on the gray spots you will need to place UAPs there.

Re: Unifi AC HD Coverage

How are you mounting the AP?  On the ceiling, wall or other?

Concrete blocks WiFi frequencies.  No surprise there at all.

Also, the AC HD is not the best choice for area coverage.  It's slighly directional downwards (when mounted on the ceiling.) An LR or a PRO would be better.

Re: Unifi AC HD Coverage

Can confirm,

there is a sheet:

https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005212927-UniFi-UAP-Antenna-Radiation-Patterns

that shows that. Although it seems minimal, it's notable. In my office (low ceiling) i get better perfomance mounted on a wall..
