Unifi AP AC Pro lost

I am not a tech guy but was told that I can use the Unifi AP AC Pro to extend my wifi signal to my detached garage. I have the Netgear X10 as my wireless router. I ran a cat cable outside and mounted the Unifi on the outside of my house. I installed the controller software and I see the Unifi on my computer. My question is can I use the Unifi Pro to extend my netgear siginal to outside or do I need something else?

Re: Unifi AP AC Pro lost

Using the controller if you create a wlan using the same SSID and passkey as your Netgear network then your devices can jump on to either access point. Once your your new AP is setup, the controller no longer needs to run until you need to make any changes or if you want to keep statistics from your AP.

Hello @martinezgene,

Create a SSID with the same name and credentials as your netgear AP.
