i got confused here about Unifi Controller Version 3 and 4.
on the UAP page it has Unifi Controller Version 3 software for download
and on USG page it has Unifi Controller Version 4 software for download
i am using Unifi Controller Version 3 currently.
may i know if Unifi Controller Version 4 can be use to manage UAP? it is stable release or beta?

does Unifi Controller Version 4 upgrades the UAP firmware?
also can the Unifi Controller Version 4 manage AP in another subnets?
because Unifi Controller Version 3 have a issue that they cannot manage AP on another subnet...
i have many sites all different subnet.

the laptop firewall is turned off. from vlan1 i can ping vlan2 UAP
my UAP is on VLAN2 when i am on vlan2 i am able to control them
but when i am on vlan1 it shows disconnected.

Your software controller must be fixed to be used to manage remote APs on another subnets. It must use the same subnet and IP address. Ports must be allowed and maybe redirected to the controller IP address, if you're using NAT at the border of your network.
To see wich ports the UniFi controller users, take a look at this KB article.
