Zero Handoff on Unifi UAP-AC-LR Not supported.

 Hi guys.

I buy a kit of UAP-AC-LR because is suppose that will support Zero-HandOff feature for a project.

I upgrade each one from 3.4.x to 3.7.51.x.

But looks like this devices won't support yet ZH feature.

Everytime I setup my WLAN and all the settings, my devices won't see this my WLAN Group with ZH enable, they can work with a normal WLAN.

My question is, does this devices support this feature?

Because I purchase this devices with the condition that support this option.

 Thanks.

Zero hand-off only works with the 1st gen AP's. 2nd Gen won't get it beause zero hand-off is not useful anymore because clients are supposed to handle roaming themself.

TLDR: you probably don't actually need Zero-Handoff because in most cases, the newer built-in Fast Roaming better accomplishes the goals.

Edit: to directly answer your question, ZHO is supported on: UAP, UAP-LR, UAP-Pro and UAP-Outdoor5.

Re: Zero Handoff on Unifi UAP-AC-LR Not supported.

I just would like to understand.

This new feature fast romaing, in a deployment, we have to put the devices signal near and have the same SSID?

What I can read is that, now the channel can be different.

Thanks,.

Not sure what you mean by putting "devices signal near" but yes all radios would be broadcasting the same SSID and configured on different channels.

For more information about roaming, Zero Handoff, and the new Fast Roaming feature, see this: https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Wireless/Wireless-LAN-Roaming-FAQ/m-p/1825118#M208811

(Why) do you need ZH?

I want to cover a warehouse with the same SSID for mobile users(roaming).

The only feature I remember was ZH.

Those are two entirely different things. What you want to achieve is called an Extended Service Set (ESS) which is one of the most fundamental parts of the IEEE 802.11 (a.k.a. Wi-Fi) standard. There's no need for any proprietary features whatsoever. All you need to do is configure all UniFi radios in the desired coverage area with the same WLAN Group.

That being said, warehouses are tipically tricky to get right. I've seen way too many issues caused by people taking a DIY approach and thinking it is just a matter of coverage. Please take a look at the following:

Thanks OmarVR for your explanation, yes that is what I want to achieve.
