Re: Failed writing kml file

Tried saving to Local drive and it just says failed.  This is trying to export it to the local drive so I wouldnt think previus location would matter.     I tried saving to numerous places all with same result.

Not sure what you mean or where to find them.   I go to live view in Air Control and see the map witrh all placemarks etc..   I then want to save this for Goog Earth viewing so I choose export device coordinates and it asks where?  I choose Desktop for example and name the file like "placemarks" for example without quotations and it just says  "failed writing to placemarks.kml"   so just so we are on same page with this.    Where do I find what you need?

I can find a serverlog file?

Re: Failed writing kml file

@Johnly it says "The system cannot find the file specified". Maybe something with file writing permissions? It is definitely something related file system.

I'm assuming that the file dd.kml doesn't exist in the location you are trying to save it in.  You might try copying, not moving, a .kml file you know opens for you to that location and rename it dd.kml.  Then try saving over it.  This should get around the permissions possibility since you had permission to the file you copied.  This will also get around, or reveal, the possibility that there is a permissions error related to creating files in the destination folder.  And lastly, if there was an oops and the code that opens the file for writing no longer has the create flag, you will still most likely be able to get the data out.

Dreams never hurt. It's when they turn into expectations that you get problems.
