vMotion causes irreversible issues with aircontrol?

While testing some vmotion migrations, I noticed our Aircontrol server was no longer working correctly. Even after restoring to yesterdays backup, it still won't start..

Here is the error

Re: vMotion causes irreversible issues with aircontrol?

Not much of an error info except null.pointerexception. etc.
Did you checked health of postgreSQL DB or have any DB backup?
Java install/path checked?

Re: vMotion causes irreversible issues with aircontrol?

@Skipper0815 I am not keeping a separate backup for the database, the entire VM gets backed up nightly. The java install appears to be working correctly, running java commands from the CLI executes successfully.

Can you elaborate on checking the health of postgreSQL? The postgreSQL services are running.

@UBNT-Karolis

Any recommendations on steps to troubleshoot the issue? DB repair? Support logs?

This is a production server that is down with about 1000 customers on this specific instance.

Re: vMotion causes irreversible issues with aircontrol?

PostgreSQL backup of a running DB per file basis isn't supported. PostgreSQL has to be shutdown and other prerequisites need to be made. ( recommended method is via pg_dump which is also used by AC2 )

See yourself in postgreSQL docs
(chapter 24.2. File System Level Backup) :
https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.0/static/backup-file.html
