IPv6 Support

First of all i am liking the new AirCube, had good feedback from customers on both the look and speed of the device.

However the lack of IPv6 support has slowed down my deployemnt.

2 years ago when i started my WISP i took the decision to go down the routed approach and not the PPPoE and to also run the system with dual stack.

This has been working great and with the L2TP service from A&A i am also able to do IPv6 routing over backup links.

However the new AirCub has no IPv6 support which is a little disapointing to see a new product released without IPv6.

Is there any planned relase dates.

Thanks

Re: IPv6 Support

Hi, @AndyHightide,

this is in our roadmap (https://community.ubnt.com/t5/airCube/airCube-features-roadmap/m-p/2345639#M1). Even this probably won't happen very soon we try our best by prioritising requested features.

Thanks for the feedback!

Re: IPv6 Support

How critical is IPv6 at the Wi-Fi router today for everyone else?

Re: IPv6 Support

For us, it's not critical -- yet.  Current plan is to roll out IPv6 late this year.

For a lot of EU ISPs it will likely be a deal breaker.

Re: IPv6 Support

In the UK is it getting more and more difficult to get IPv4 addresses

The Digital Economy Act means if i am natting i need to log users access.

Being able to give the users IPv6 and use a 6to4 from my ISP means i dont have to do this logging.

Re: IPv6 Support

Very. CGN is ugly for many reasons.

Remember that your clients aren't Comcasts or Rogers or Telkom; it's the smaller shops that're going to have a harder time getting and financing more and more v4 assignments.

Our plan going forward is CGN v4 and native v6, and despite everything else in the "Why the AirCube is not for me" thread, v6 is certainly a show-stopper for mass deployment. (granted, for us "mass deployment" is a few hundred units.)

Re: IPv6 Support

Thanks guys, I am quite familiar with the issues with CGN. It's on our roadmap and I will talk to the team about speeding it up.
