> implying one would only put up one pair of AF5X's, good one If time/money/physical size constraints/downtime wasn't an issue (well, and being able to actually order them ) I'd replace literally every PtP link I have with AF5X's. There's no kill like overkill after all.
Oh great! Does this mean they might be available now? I have been back ordered 3 times. Would love to get a pair! Maybe if I send pictures of how long they have been backordered I can win a pair? =P
Isn't it a bit odd to be offereing free units to those who already have some when I am back ordered with Double Radius? Makes it rather hard for us to "compete" in your contest.
Many users have devices in-hand already and we'll be running this promo for a bit while inventory gets ramped up to distributors. Some distributors are getting new shipments this week. We're looking forward to seeing everyone's link who wants to share.
Excuse me if I consider this answer disingenuous. We buy over $5000/mo of Ubiquiti gear and desperately need this product for its great new features and you're **giving** it away?!!! Really bad PR move.
We are giving away 2 radios per week. There are thousands of units being shipped to distributors and they are being expedited via air. They are arriving each week. Who do you have an order in with? We can check to see when you will receive.
Also, this is a great time to encourage stories as it brings out different applications and use cases. As customers receive their orders they have a very good indication of what to expect in the field.
OK, today I get call from our distributor. So, tomorow a pair of radios and slant kits is on my desk. But the antenas are still for 31.7.2015 delivery .
Are you waiting for the RocketDish? If you have the slant kits, you should just use the RocketDish. These should be readily available. The 30 and 34dBi AirFiber Dishes have shipped. The 23dBi starts to ship end of this month.
If you ship from China to Europe by seaship then 2month... . And yes I can (and probably will) use slant...but have to buy extra antenas and maybee the slant is not that good as directslantantena... .
We'd like to congratulate the first four winners. The guys below posted some awesome installations over the last four weeks showcasing the power and versatility of AF-5X.
Radios are bench linked, mounted on dishes and on their towers. Will be linking up later today hopefully. 4Km distance, clear Fresnel. Should be good to go.
Will will be closing the contest at the end of this week. All entries must be in by Sunday at midnight (PST). We still have a few more weeks of entries to judge (stories posted after 8/10 haven't been judged yet), so we'll have some more winners announced soon, and keep an eye on your PMs if we tag you here!
Thanks for sharing your success stories with AF-5X. We hope you all had fun showing off your installations, and stay tuned for more promotions from Ubiquiti. Keep posting to the Stories section. If you didn't win a pair of AF-5X and you posted an airFiber story, shoot me a PM, and we can send you a Ubiqui-Tee.
I read somewhere that those who submitted stories but didn't win could score a ubnt shirt, any of those left over? I submitted one ages back, a ubnt shirt would rock just sayin'.
Update!
If you haven't seen it yet, please take a look at the airFiber5 Installation & Design guide before setting up your first link to make sure you understand all of the proper steps!
