Just to let you know: I currently use your pictures while training new technicians. Thank you for having such great examples... of what NOT to do. I also send a picture of your tower to customer who "want a tower on their property" but have no viable market in the area. They usually stop calling. All things aside could you please at least put radomes on those big 3ft dishes? I have no idea how that tower makes it though even the slightest Iraqi windstorm.

I remember as a kid riding behind my parents car at 30 mph on a sled in the snow with about 40 feet of lead rope attaching me to the bumper.  It was fun!  If I were to try that with my kids today, that would be viewed as child endangerment and I would have a knock on my door from the DCFS.  I say, as long as you think you can do it safely, go ahead and stand on a mounting arm 30+ feet in the air with no support (I know I probably would).  I know several times I have climbed on roofs with somewhat steep pitches in the middle of snowstorms, and haven't died yet.  Sure...you might use climbing gear if you felt like your life was in danger, but then again, you might climb safely, using the proper gear and techniques, only to get into your car and be t-boned by a drunk driver at an intersection.  I say live, and let live.  Oh....and use proper climbing gear next time please!

Well safety is relative. If I'm up the tower and a lightning storm pops up, you can bet I don't care as much about three-point climbing techniques on my way down.
