AP and STA are communicating but no Ethernet signal.

Hi there...

Kindly help me resolving this problem.

System: PowerBeam 5AC Gen2.

Distance: Less than 800yards, straight clear view.

Test: Speed test between both sides Passed in all conditions (regardless of ethernet signal presence)

The Ethernet signal is available from the provider, but for some reason, it is not discovered by the Access point (PtP), or may be discovered but not transmitted to the Station (PtP).

I noticed the absence of the (LAN SPEED) value whenever the problem occurs. (Ethernet section of the DASHBOARD - the lower left side of the TX dashboard).

This problem is intermittent, however; when it happens it stays sometimes for more than 10 hrs continuously.

Changing frequency, rebooting, or manipulating the configuration won't solve the problem.

This starts happening on July med where the average outside temperature is around 130F. and mostly from around 9:00 AM till around 7:00 PM (If this would indicate something).

Cables are all shielded 10Gbps/Cat 7, factory molded plug.

Does anybody have a clue about this issue?

Re: AP and STA are communicating but no Ethernet signal.

What is the total length of the ethernet cable (both sides of POE)?

Have you tried testing or replacing the ethernet cable or POE?

What is this radio connected to via ethernet?

If you see this again, could you try connecting via SSH and send the output of this command?

 ethtool -S eth0

Re: AP and STA are communicating but no Ethernet signal.

Thanks...

1- Total length: 25 feet POE-AP  + 75 feet STA-POE, with 100 feet total.

2- Replacing POE? Yes, I did. replacing with another and switching one with the other, I did both, but same.

3- I did not understand your Q! but the attached images may tell about it.

The next time you see no ethernet link, could you try logging into the radio (from wireless) and downloading the Support Info file from the System tab?  Please forward it to james@ubnt.com and include a reference to this thread.

Re: AP and STA are communicating but no Ethernet signal.

Hi dear James...

The same problem has accrued today (just now 11:15 PM),

This is the result of the command you asked 2 days ago...

WA.v8.5.7# ethtool -S eth0
NIC statistics:
SNR for pair 0, dB : 0
SNR for pair 1, dB : 0
SNR for pair 2, dB : 0
SNR for pair 3, dB : 0
Cable length,m (+/- 20m) : 0
WA.v8.5.7#

I will go now wireless to try download the Support info file.

Re: AP and STA are communicating but no Ethernet signal.

Could you also try to download the Support Info(System tab) file from this unit after seeing this, but before a reboot?
