GPS via SNMP

I am unable to locate the OIDs to view the gps information for the Prism radios.  We can do it just fine on the AirFibers.  Is this information not available?  If not, is it possible to have it included as it is nice to monitor for any GPS issues.

@UBNT-Zy Can you share what we have?

Re: GPS via SNMP

I am not following.  You don't know what UBNT has for OIDs on Prism or do you need a list of the AirFiber OIDs?

Re: GPS via SNMP

I was asking @UBNT-Zy to share the OIDs that we currently have for airMAX.

Re: GPS via SNMP

It would really be beneficial, otherwise if you have no way of monitoring for any GPS issues which are important now that GPS sync is working.

Re: GPS via SNMP

@wispWizard, just the quick note: GPS data was introduced in AirOS v8.4.3

snmpwalk -m ~/UBNT-MIB.txt -m ~/UBNT-AirMAX-MIB.txt -c public -v 1 192.168.1.20 .1
....
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsStatus.0 = INTEGER: on(2)
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsFix.0 = INTEGER: fix3d(3)
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsLat.0 = STRING: 54.865322
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsLon.0 = STRING: 24.406420
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsAltMeters.0 = STRING: 156.97
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsAltFeet.0 = STRING: 515.02
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsSatsVisible.0 = INTEGER: 12
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsSatsTracked.0 = INTEGER: 11
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsHDOP.0 = STRING: 1.0

Re: GPS via SNMP

I can snmpwalk the AC Prism Gen2 radios all running 8.4.3 and they do not return and gps info.  What is the actual OID for UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntGpsSatsVisible.0 because if I walk .1 it never shows.  I get a bunch of UBNT-AirMAX-MIB entries at the bottom but nothing to do with GPS.

Did the GPS altitude ever make it into the GUI?  It would be really nice to have in UNMS and other tools.

Re: GPS via SNMP

Thanks when I query a radio it returns them as

UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntAirMAX.8.1.0 = STRING: "2017-12-27 11:18:54"
UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntAirMAX.8.2.0 = INTEGER: 1

UBNT-AirMAX-MIB::ubntAirMAX.9.8.0 = INTEGER: 10

I'll have to check why.

Re: GPS via SNMP

Guys,

please re-check if you are using the latest AirMAX MIB file while querying GPS information  - it is available in the downloads section next to the AirOS v8.X firmware as there's a chance that the link to the older file version was present in older downloads web page

Revision should be the following:

DESCRIPTION "The AirMAX MIB module for Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. entities"
REVISION "201710030000Z"
...

Re: GPS via SNMP

@MimCom

thanks for the request,

we'll check for the possibility to include GPS altitude into the GUI.

Re: GPS via SNMP

What's the difference between a fix2d and fix3d for ubntGPSFix entry (1.3.6.1.4.1.41112.1.4.9.2.0)?

Re: GPS via SNMP

2dfix is latitude and longitude, 3dfix also includes elevation.  You need a minimum of 3 satellites for 2d and 4 satellites for 3dfix.

Thanks.  Does that mean 2dfix is sufficient for GPS sync fixed-framing to work or is a 3dfix needed?
