Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

I want to create a wireless link , 1.75 to connect to 3 mg dsl, not sure of which product to use , as I am installing a 65 antenna on one end and a 35 ft tower on the other I,m asking which product to use as I don't want to be climbing the towers repeatedly , i want to set it up and leave it

the bullets are attractive because of size and all in one package ,No LMR to run and I was i was planning a 24 db dish on each end , maybe 60 ft to power on transmit end and about 175 ft to power on the home end ( i could run the power to the base of antenna for about 75 ft if that's too long ) which POE device to use with these ??

Ive looked at mikrotik boards and ubiquiti cards but it may be overkill for this link , just a simple 3 mg dsl PTP link and again put it up and forget about it

so I,m asking for recommendations on which product to us, which POE device and any other suggestions

thanks in advance

Re: Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

your going 1.75 miles? I would just go with a pair of nanostations then. I have a pair setup going 1 mile through some pretty thick vegitation and i'm still getting -60 signal.
Would be cheaper then 2 bullets and 2 24dBm dishes.... but either will work.

As far as POE goes, from what i've read the 15V POE injector have issues once you reach ~150 feet, if your going much further then that I believe your recommended to go with the 24v POE injector. I have one bullet setup ~200 feet with the 24v injector and its working fine.

Re: Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

yeah through a couple of semi-thick pine trees.... Also I was lazy and one of the nanostations is indoors behind a wall.... if your only going a mile or two you can get away with things like that Man Very Happy... did I understand correctly that your only going 1.75 miles?

Re: Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

yes. 1.75 miles, link info below , I'm wiling to go to 62 ft to get a clean line of sight , I fought with evdo for 6 mths now and constantly realigning antenna because of multipath and weather conditions , now evdo is capped , my best speeds right now are 400 kbps, sucks, so I can get 3 mg dsl 1.75 ,miles down the road
I want easy , I want set it up and forget about it ,
36 18 45.2768 N
87 33 42.706 W 30 ft ant
36 17 28.7119 N
87 32 42.8297 W 65 ft

Re: Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

I dont think there is any equipment from ubiquiti that wouldnt make that link Man Tongue... 2 nanostations would work fine... or if you already have the antennas 2 bullets work fine as well... you cant go wrong if your going under 2 miles

Re: Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

Nanostation2's or even loco's would probably work fine, we have Point-to-multipoint Nano2's at 5 miles, and loco's at up to 3, so they certainly would work fine at 1.75.

Re: Bullet 2HP or Bullet 2MHP

your link calc is also running at 5.8Ghz in horizontal mode. at 2.4 with 2 BulletM2's and 2 15-19dBi grids on each end I would guess you would have about a -60 on both ends at best rate. It will most likely be better than that at that distance, but better to be safe than sorry.
Are the tree's impacting any of the fresnal area?
