Bullet 5 not receiving any wifi stations

Hello Folks,

I am brand new in this forum.

Currently I am using  Windows 7pro and 10 pro (on2 different laptops), wifi  reception is mediocre at best eg lots of interference from a variety of sources to access the internet.

So, on recommendation, I purchased a bullet #5 in order to receive wifi in marinas.

I updated the Bullet firmware to v 4.5 and this went well, but updatting to v8.5.7/8 does not work (a nag box comes up stating:"413 - Request Entity Too Large"   So Ok Ill stick to v4.5.

In short:

I found a file on  "HowToSetupaBullet 2  for beginners" online and followed it to the letter

Current IP is 192.186.10.20  which works in Chrome, Firefox & IE 11

There are 8 WiFi stations in the neigborhood according to my phone and both laptops, BUT the Bullet does not even see one of them.

I have attached a couple of screen prints (from WIN7 laptop), No doubt I missed something,

I have done the setup twice on both laptops and followed the HowTo instructions to the letter, yet my effords were in vein

Hope someone can steer me in the right direction. many thanks

Re: Bullet 5 not receiving any wifi stations

It may be new, unused.

It does not have the chipset to support newer wireless protocols.

This is a hardware limitation, not software.

[ Edited ]

This version of the Bullet has been discontinued long ago. The newer version is M5.

While the M series are not AC, they are "Wireless N" and are compatible with far mare ap's than the A/B/G version you have.

Most newer WiFi ap's do not support compatibility further back than N.

The M5 Bullet will probably work far better for you.

Do not buy the AC version of the bullet, it was designed to ONLY work with other UBNT Airmax radios, not standard WiFi.

Re: Bullet 5 not receiving any wifi stations

Thank you,What I bought was advertised as NEW.

However, currently I am not in a postion to purchase a new one.

But surely it must have worked when it was issued?

Where can I download the appropriate  software ? thanks
