My setup is as follows:
(House) Router --> Switch --> Loco M2 AP --> (Garage) Loco M2 Station -> Switch --> PC and Router
The AP stopped routing again today. The AP is not crashing, but it stops routing (the devices on Garage side can no longer access Internet or anything on House side) and it is unreachable from the House side.
It is reachable, however, from the Garage side, where the Station is located. I was also able to ssh into the OS from the House side, but really didn't know what to look for. So, I downloaded a Support file and rebooted the AP. It came back up working perfectly.
So, for some reason, the AP stops routing and becomes unreachable on my network, and can only be connected to from the Station side. How do I proceed? Whom can I contact with the .sup file?

If your AP radio is locking up and becoming inaccessible from WLAN or LAN, that would point to a hardware issue.
First, make sure you are using the require STP ethernet cable and shielded RJ-45 ends for the radio -> POE injector segment.
If you are already using the required cable and ends and have ruled cable/POE out, I would replace the radio.

Replaced ethernet cable on AP unit yesterday. My ping monitor kept losing connection to Station for less than a second every few minutes all day. Today, the AP lost connection completely again.

So, unless this is not the correct cable to use, I'm replacing the unit because I've been having this problem with it from day one.

The AP has been crashing (still on, but dropped connectionand completely unreachable from LAN side) for the past 2 days, even with the new cable.
I will try running cable directly from router to PoE.
My 2nd test will be replacment of unit itself which has already been ordered.
Will report back results.
I have a ping monitor which monitors both the AP and Station from the AP side.
Since connecting the AP directly to the router nearly 3 hours ago, the ping monitor reports no connection drops to it. However, it reports 4 connection drops from the Station in the same time period. Sometimes it is down for just 1 minute, sometimes 10 minutes. So far, it's been coming back on it's own.
What is not clear to me is whether the Station is dropping the connection to the AP, or the AP is dropping the connection to the Station. Again, so far , the ping monitor shows that the AP has remained connected while the Station is lost.
It's such a short distance between the two units and the connection seems so good according to the main screens on each.
- Replaced AP around 8:00pm.
- Station connection continues to drop and reconnect every couple minutes. Sometimes drop duration is a few seconds, sometimes several minutes.
- Boosted TX output on both units to 10 dBm. No discernible effect.
- Station finally dropped completely at 8:35pm and had to manually restart (unplug and plug back in).
- Ping monitor says AP has not dropped at all.
- Out of ideas, other than replace Station as well.
The Station does not reboot. It drops then restores connection. Sometimes within seconds. Sometimes it takes several minutes. But it's pretty constant -- all day and all night, every few minutes.
The AP has not dropped the connection since I connected it directly to the router.
So frustrating because the connections on the main screens appear to be so healthy!
I failed to notice this in the AP logs. I've got a bunch of them from today, which sort of coincides with the Station dropping it's connection every couple of minutes all day:

Note that the MAC address is always a permutation of the actual Station address. What does this signify?
Also, out of desperation, I moved the Station. It's right up against the garage wall, about 30 feet away and 1/2 story below the AP. It's only 3 feet from where it was. I moved it at 3:10 today, and for the past 2 hours it has been relatively stable. There have only been only 2 drops, and they were from the computer connected to the switch connected to the Station -- not the actual Station itself.

Connection restored usually within 1 second. Nothing reported in log for AP or Station.
Could you try changing the channel width on this link to something non-standard like 10/30MHz? Before doing so, confirm what is the best channel with Site Survey on both radios. Once you change to a non-standard channel width, standards-based wifi networks won't be visible.

AirView won’t run -- some problem with Java. So, I use a WiFi Analyzer on my phone. According to it, the best channels for use in my area (in order):
- 14 **********
- 13 *****
- 12 **
- 1 **
The frequencies for Channels 12-14 aren’t available on these Nanostations.
The AP Frequency setting was “Auto”, and it selected Channel 1 by default. However, when I looked at the Site Surveys for both units, Channel 2 appeared to be the least used.
So, I changed the Frequency, MHZ on AP to 2417. Used this chart to determine MHZ: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels
Also changed Channel width to 10MHZ on AP.
Downloaded support info for both units, then rebooted both with new settings at 11:26am.
Waited to see what happens next.
Station went down and did not come back up. So, I changed AP Frequency/MHZ back to “Auto”. Station came right back up.
But, it continues to drop connection intermittently.
I would try changing the Data Rate Module on both radios from Default to Alternative (Wireless tab).
You don't have a lot of good options for channels, but I would still suggest staying on 10MHz. Try something in the 2447/2457 range,
For MAX TX Rate, I suggest leaving it at the highest level w/ Auto enabled. Locking or Reducing the MAX TX Rate is useful when having a link that is on the borderline between different data rate levels, but generally doesn't need to be touched.
In addition to changing Channel Width to 10MHz:
- Changed Data Rate Module to “Alternative” on both units.
- Changed Channel Frequency to 2452.
- Lowered Max TX Rate to MCS 11 (re:
- AirMax Quality decreased to 85% (was 97%)
- AirMax Capacity decreased to 40% (was 90%)
- Transmit CCQ went from 93% to 98%.
- Horizontal / Vertical went from -52 / -57 dBm to -53 / -65 dBm.
But, I think the most significant result is that the Station has been up for 24 hours now without one single connection drop.
Going to switch Max TX Rate to MCS 15 with "Auto" clicked on.
