NanoStation M5 Error - Lights flashing

Hello,

We have a number of M2's and one M5 running as AP's. We have had them for a couple of years now, runnig without issue.

Yesterday, the M5 wasn't working. On investigation the lights were flashing, like this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEhZUqxAqXw

The device didn't respond to ping.

I powered the device down, and rebooted. Still no reponse to ping.

I took the device back to my office, and reset to factory settings, and then set it up from scratch.

The device was working for about 4 hours, and then failed, showing the same blinking lights as before.

Whilst the device was running, I checked to see if there were any firmware updates, and there were not.

Any thoughts on what to try next?

Re: NanoStation M5 Error - Lights flashing

There is either a problem with the installation or the radio is failing.

Test cable at install location, most likely a short in it putting the radio into tftp recovery mode.

Re: NanoStation M5 Error - Lights flashing

Thanks for the reply j2840fl, I have now restored the config, and swapped the cables for new (and tested working!) cables.

I guess if it happens again, the unit needs replacing?

Just a quick update, the AP has been active for over 30 hours now without issue.

Guess the cable swap did the trick. Thanks again.

Correct.  Glad it's working now.
