Toughcable patch cords

When installing any Airmax radios I used Ubiquiti TouchCable Carrier terminated with Ubiquiti ToughConnectors and using the Ubiquiti surge arrestors. As per instructions this requires a short cable to connect the radio to the surge arrestor. Then the surge arrestor connected to the long run of toughcable and close to source another surge arrestor and another short cable from the surge arrestor to the network switch. Field termination of the toughcable is a royal pain and I would like to minimise it at just the long cable run. Does any body know of a good source of outdoor rated, S/FTP, solid core preferably, patch cords to use? I've found a company in the US selling toughcable based patch cords terminated with toughconnectors but I am searcing something in Europe and it does not have to be made with Ubiquiti cable as long as the cable used includes a proper drain wire and not just the foil wrap. Any information highly appreciated.

Re: Toughcable patch cords

Offhand, I don't.

You will probably find those terminations easier to make

if you use the Platinum EZ-RJ44 connectors instead of

the ones you describe. They are intended for large-

diamater cables with larger wire leads. It's also much

easier to verify the color match.  Dave

Re: Toughcable patch cords

Thank you Dave for the heads up. They look much easier to terminate. Are these available in Europe as well? I have only found a couple of third party sellers selling them on Amazon UK

Re: Toughcable patch cords

You're welcome! I have no idea where they are sold.

I also know there are many fakes on eBay and other

outlets: they use the 'EZ' name for cheap imported

copies. Look for 'Platinum Tools' in the description.  Dave
