Where is the password field?

Where do I key the password for this network?  It's bad enough you removed functionality from my Loco M2 with v6 firmware, but this is ridiculous.  I can select the network from the list, It knows it is WPA2-AES, but there is no where to put in the flippin' password!

Also, on this network it goes to like -63 and then disconnects.  So it won't hold a lock on the AP either.  This is new behavior and only on the loco M2s (I have 2 of them, both behaving the same way).  My phones and my laptop can see this network with no issues.

I used to recommend this gear, but I'll have to hold my tongue from now on. When I try to downgrade using the firmware uploader, it tells me error code 43.

Right: there is no downgrade from the latest firmware.

Check that the Wireless option for 'WDS--transparent bridge'

is not selected. Also check that the AirMax protocol in the

left-most tab [with the Ubiquiti logo] is not enabled. Either

one of those will prevent proper WiFi operation.

For the WPA2-AES password, be sure you scroll down to the

bottom of the page.

What's the 'removed functionality' you complain about?     Dave

Update your adblocker, and if it's still missing then disable it for the page. The offending line from the block list should have been removed, but you may have a cached copy.

Re: Where is the password field?

The removed functionality I'm talking about is support for TKIP.  The rationale given was that that isn't secure (and I'm not arguing about that), but neither is unsecured WiFi and that is still supported.

Some of us have boats with boosters in them to reach shore and some restaurants or marinas might be using TKIP.  Ok, it's not secure, but now that I've upgraded my devices (at your urging), I can no longer connect to wifi spots on shore because they are using TKIP.

It's frustrating to have a product that just loses abilities silently.  I saw no great warning that said, if you do this we will remove your ability to connect using insecure encryption (but you can still transmit in plane text).....

Not happy about this.

Re: Where is the password field?

Not everybody can be happy with every change.

TKIP was removed because it's not secure when it

pretends to be so. It's misleading--and it lead Ubiquiti

into conflict because people depended on it.

If you use open WiFi, you know what you're getting--

and you deserve whatever that is. This is different.  Dave

Re: Where is the password field?

I believe that change was specified in the release notes when it was removed, but I understand your point.
