AirMax AC helped us grow our WISP
Description

I have been working for a small, local WISP in North East Scotland for a while now but recently taken more control over the running of the WISP and desicions on equipment use.

 

We were previously an all M5 based system but this is now giving way to AirMax AC.

 

This has helped us use narrower channel sizes than before whilst still achiving great throughput.

 

Below are some pictures of our main hub and a few remote POPs we have in the nextwork. 

 

Backhaul to the city is provided by an AirFiber 5X on a RD-5G-30

 

The two titanium sectors are for customers with direct LOS to the tower and both have Rocket 5AC Prism radios. 

 

The rest of the RD-5G-30 (and 31AC) are all Rocket AC Lite and Prism radios linking to other towers in the system.

 

Routing is done by a MT RB3011 and we also have an EdgeSwitch 16 on site. The Site has a 100VA UPS and an auto start diesel generator for power failures.
