New Router firmware screwed

I just updated my router firmware and now I'm locked out of my router. I have done this numerous times and I can usually get back in by reset and default Ubunt. I am on my iPhone right now. Nothing works! I have reset my router and Modem over and over again.

I am screwed.

Sorry to hear that.

AirRouter has no recent firmware update for this old

router. If you used the published Ubiquiti firmware,

it should not harm it.   Dave

Re: New Router firmware screwed

Well I can only go by what the page said. I wish I could get back into it. I'm trying to figure out how to flash it. I think I'll have to set up a new router.

Re: New Router firmware screwed

airOS for XM board firmware v5.6.9

Firmware 2016-08-19

Filename: XM.v5.6.9.29546.160819.1157.bin

Version: v5.6.9

Size:7.5MB

And now I really messed things up.  I wasn't thinking and I plugged in a new router....only I forgot about the little black jack that powers the router being connected.  It wasn't pretty.  It immediately burnt that router UP! and it no longer supplies power to my HP Router

OLD ROUTER.  Thanks Dave.  Yes it's old but it had been working great, mostly.  And better than I realized.  I bought a Netgear N600 for $10 from Craigslist to get me by while my new POE adapter was in the mail.  It's been SO LONG since I've used any other kind of Router that I've been spoiled.  This Netgear Router?  I would never pay good money for one.

So now it brings up a conundrum.  I've been thinking of replacing the Air Router HP and of course my first thought is Ubiquiti since it has served me so well for so long.

I see the Amplifi Router out now but that's more on the Consumer side.

From what I've read, everyone else is recommending  Ubiquiti Networks Unifi 802.11ac Dual-Radio PRO Access Point and Ubiquiti Edgerouter PoE.  If you can learn how to configure it.

From what I can see they would both be about the same price. I'm just not sure which one would be the right one for me.

And yes, it's for my house but I'm not afraid of learning how to use it.  This Netgear Router is a POS.

Re: New Router firmware screwed

I'm glad you liked the product; it was never a high-end unit,

but it was popular enough, I suppose. It has been out of

manufacture and considered legacy for years. For all I

know, there may be some still available.

But your options are not either/or: a UniFi access point

contains no router, and the EdgeRouter contains no WiFi--

you need both.If you want these two, I suggest UAP-AC-LR

and ER-X-POE. New versions are fairly easy to setup.

AmpliFi is a consumer item--so was AirRouter; it may be

just what you want.    Dave
