12 Temperature Sensor's - Server Room

I'm a newbie with mFi and am trying to work out 12 temperature sensors and how many mPort boxes I need to do that with.  I've searched the manuals etc and can't find the answer.

Can anybody assist?

Each mPort can have 3 sensors connected. To connect 12 sensors you will need 4 mPorts.

Re: 12 Temperature Sensor's - Server Room

It depends on your sensors. If they have an output in the -2.048v and +2.048v range, you can have 3. However, if you can poll the sensors to read them, you might get away with 1, if you don't need simultaneous readings.

The unit has 5 digital outputs, so you could use that as a binary selector. Depending on the digital output state (without using a multiplexer), you could select a different set of 3 sensors (00001 -> set a, 00010 -> set b, 00100 -> set c, 01000 -> set d, 10000 -> set e) . So using this idea you could read up to 15 sensors, however, it would take several seconds to get them all
