Will the end of Adobe Flash kill the mFi controller in 2020?

MS has announced to remove it from their browsers in 2019.

If UBNT have got any long term sensitivity to customer brand loyalty they'll be brainstorming on ways to salvage the mFi project from it's current debacle.

Re: Will the end of Adobe Flash kill the mFi controller in 2020?

How many ways can a product die?

mFi support has been gone for more than

a year. Its last controller was strictly beta,

and missing lots of core features. It's over....   Dave

Then they should officialy announce a EOL date, the last comment from Ubiquiti was when Robert said software development will seize, but they will keep on selling the hardware.

That doesn't define 'over' in my dictionary.

In the meanwhile the latest AmpliFi promotion vaguely mentions the management of smart home devices.

My point exactly. You can't say "we'll continue to sell the product" while at the same time saying "Forget about us supporting it". . . Not smart. Kill it off properly, or commit to supporting it in the long term. Doing something in the middle will sully the word Ubiquiti.

Re: Will the end of Adobe Flash kill the mFi controller in 2020?

If a maker stops development and announces it, but

keeps selling the product on hand, it's up to the buyer

to decide if there's enough value. If not, don't buy it.

I'll agree that the mFi adventure wasn't handled the best

way, but I have no idea if the underlying technology is

rubust enough to revive in any form. I have doubts....    Dave

Re: Will the end of Adobe Flash kill the mFi controller in 2020?

Caveat Emptor is all well and good, and exactly why people that buy an mFi product only to find it has no support won't buy a UBNT again. There is no link to the aforementioned topic in the stores, or a label on the packaging that states 'Ubiquiti have no intention of supporting this product'

It's calamitous behaviour for any brand.
