mPorts stuck in "Adopting" v2.4.1

Pretty new to all this, but I have tried and tried to get this all up and running, and no matter what I keep getting stuck at adopting. I have restarted, reset, changed the IP pool so it was handing out IP's above .20, completely switched servers so the MFI was on a different setup, and changed where/how the mports are connecting to the network.

No matter what, when the option pops up to adopt, the devices go "adopting" and then are no longer seen by mfi. I get something like this:

  • Last Contact 2/20/2015 2:25 PM
  • Last Alert EVT_AP_DiscoveredPending 2/20/2015 2:25 PM
  • Last Event EVT_AP_Adopted 2015-02-20T22:25:28Z

And then they go inactive, and I rinse/repeat and remove a variable, but I am stuck. Everything is on the newest firmware as well.

Re: mPorts stuck in "Adopting" v2.4.1

it could have been the wrong mongo version and or java , and even a firewall blocking port 6080.

I can say the best results will be had with ubuntu 14.04 or debian 7 ( 64 bit)

Also you may have to reset the failed to adopt devices. To make sure thet report on the lan as ready to adopt.

Any chance your DHCP subnet is 192.168.2.0?

If it ain't broke, fix it anyway

Nope, 192.168.1.x. But I read about the issues pre-2.1.4.

So, I insured 192.168.1.20 was left open on the DHCP list, just incase.

What OS is the controller running on? 32 or 64 bit?

Tried in OS X and a Windows 7 (two different computers), both 64.

Re: mPorts stuck in "Adopting" v2.4.1

Hmm, it may be the Firewall, one thing I haven't checked yet. But I typically don't have any issues within the network.

Java has been re-installed and updated, and mongo was a new install, but I will try re-installing that as well.

The discovery tool has had no issues finding the mPorts, and I have reset them to factory several times. Even mFi would see them, and then once the adoption process started is when everything failed, and the mPorts go inactive.

Re: mPorts stuck in "Adopting" v2.4.1

Well, I am going to be deploying Unfi throughout the office this weekend, so I will change the subnet then, setup correct Firewall rules, plus having everything be Ubiquiti will help Ubnt Banana ?

Re: mPorts stuck in "Adopting" v2.4.1

Did another re-install of all software, re-downloaded, and re-installed. That took care of it.

Thank you sir/ma'am.
